actually that's the weird thing, the ride comfort is so much better for some reason and im sure its the different tires i went with.
also, both my old wheels and new wheels are 8" wide, my old tires were 235/40 and new tires are 225/40 yet the new tires which should be skinnier actually have much more of a donut look to it then my kumhos on my a-techs did, very weird but i love the look! the sidewalls on my old kumhos were flat as can be with the rim, however the general's on the volks are a tiny bit stretched but the volks are more recessed into the tire, i thought it would be the other way around.
needless to say if i wouldv'e gone with 235 again i would have been rubbing for sure, thank god for coilovers

hey any of you guys know where i can get a new clutch? my finally went out on the ride to the tampa show saturday. Im looking for a stage 4, 4 puck sprung clutch...cheapest i found so far is clutch masters fx400 for $412 shipped.
if im not mistaken, ipp and myself have the ACT HD pressure plate with modified street disk. Hey Serg.. what flywheel do you have again? Ive got the Fidanza. Its supposed to be good for 399whp. If youre planning on pushing more than that, this setup probably wont do.
I had the same ACT clutch kit denny has, which includes
ACT Heavy Duty Pressure Plate + ACT Street Clutch Disc + throw out bearing + alignment tool.
It was great while I used it.
The act pressure plate is rated to 499whp ^^
The street disc I believe is good up to 390whp. Don't quote me on that though =p
So basically if you get the ACT Clutch Kit you should be good up to 390whp. Once you get there, you can just swap out the clutch for a higher rated act clutch and keep the pressure plate, like I did.
I opted for the act 6-puck sprung clutch in anticipation of more power =D Since my act street disc was pretty used up.
The 6-puck clutch can handle up to 499whp.
Denny I have the competition clutch flywheel.
*Edit: Forgot to mention. Just cause the manufacturer rates them at that much, doesn't mean they'll hold that much whp for very long. Its like saying, Yea you can have fuel injectors at more than 80% duty cycle, but do you really want to.... nope =)
So if your goal is around 250-350whp I say get the Act street.
350-450whp get the 6-puck clutch.
If you're gonna go big and don't mind spending smore more, i'd say get the Competition Clutch. I compared mine to pete's and I can say with certainty that the CC looks a lot sturdier than the ACT.
Dammit there I go writing a sh!!t load again >.<

competition clutch stg4 1620 w/ upgraded pressure plate + competition clutch flywheel here... its a 6 puck sprung.. 4 puck was just going to be to aggressive for daily use and a nightmare driving in the heavy traffic i go through daily. im happy with it so far. mines is rated for a little over 440 whp and tq.
all 3 of our clutches (act and cc) are nice clutches for the tc and have had good results.
