Default Another Stupid Dealership Posting

for Butler Toyota Scion in Macon, GA. Over three weeks ago I dropped it off to have some rock chips and a smashed windshield repaired at the Toyota Certified Collision Center. I dropped it off a few days early to get some problems taken care of. 1. My maintenance light was on. 2. The idle was erratic. 3. The MPG was down. 4. There was a TSB on the radio---it changed stations by itself at start up.

I picked up my car today. It looks like they left wax all over where they painted, but I thought there was supposed to be no waxing for a few weeks after fresh paint. Secondly, the TSB on my radio said for the service techs to not test my radio, just replace the head unit. I got down the road and realized that they had not done that. Third, Every time I shift into a higher gear and accelerate, there is now a rattle coming from under my car in between the front passenger tire and the passenger seat. And last, my maintenance light was still on.

I called the Service Dept. when I got to work. They said they could not reproduce any of the problems. I politely told him that the TSB said not to test the radio because the problems were intermittent, and he was supposed to just replace the unit. He also said the idle was normal.

They now have my car again. I will give them one more try, then I am calling Scion.

This sucks!

I just needed to vent. Thanks for listening

{thanks!}

I'm sorry to hear of your frustration. I just pulled up that TSB, and it reads clear as day...

Sounds like you need to talk to the Service Director or maybe the General Manager, or maybe find another dealership.

Was that at David Maus Toyota, Sanford Florida??? I know it's not but sounds like something they would do. At least that is what many customers say. LOL

Sorry about your experience.

Do not let them get away with it. Bad apples car dealers need to let the good ones do their job honestly.

Hey Guy,

Sorry to hear about your troubles.. Butler has been great to me. From my Original White xB to my newly purchased tC. I had to take my xB in several times for warranty work and the service guys were always nice and called me with updates and everything. They were working on a check engine light problem on mine and they broke my front grille and after I told them it was cracked the quickly ordered me a painted replacement and even installed it for me for free..

I will see if I can find the card of the service guy I always deal with up there.. Top notch.

I took my car back to them and they ordered the radio. I will be getting that fixed next week. It was raining when I picked the car up, so I didn't get a good look at the body work until later. I was not impressed with that either. You can still see where the paint was chipped no matter what angle you look at it. It looks like they used one of those paint pens instead of filling the chips in and blending like they told me they would do.

I think I saw you driving out of there in your xB. I was in a friends car but I remember seeing a darker xB come out
