Default Oversteer

Hey so back in 2011i crashed my first car, an 01 mustang I got for 2 months and it was because I over steered.. Was raining, made a left turn car started spinning

Couple months later I got my 07 tc been like a year now and I'm planning on buying the frs during spring break

I'm actually pretty damn scared to buy it cuz it's rear wheel drive.. Anyone have any tips or advice on what I should do?

I hear its definitely not as bad as a mustang in oversteers but still..

Thanks guys

First thing is to just take it easy until you get comfortable with the car. Then once you are, and the car is good and broken in, take it to an autocross to learn how the car will respond to your actions. Also, If you leave the VSC on, it will do a pretty good job keeping you inline. Just be extra careful in wet conditions, especially when applying the throttle in a turn, and when in the snow, be very careful when downshifting as the sudden braking of the rear wheels can car the car to spin out.

You can also change to a staggered set-up to give the rear end more grip, and maybe swap springs from a Subaru BRZ up front as they're softer spring rates are designed to promote more understeer versus the FRS.

Also the FRS has much better balance and independant rear suspension versus the mustang with a solid rear axle.

Yeah, found that would in my BMW right away. Downshifting on a hill in the snow. the rear-end just wanted to come right around.
