Has anyone ever tried to do some custom LED lighting mods or something similar that required a circuit that didn’t exist? I am trying to think of new things to do but I want to take the technology up a notch. Maybe halo, angel, or foot lights that strobe to music in a custom way or something. I’m not exactly sure yet but I want to hear what you guys have for ideas. If it seems interesting maybe I’ll end up doing it. My roommate and I are both electrical engineers so we want to actually apply what we’ve learned to something useful

I remember seeing some guy make some strobe lights that blinked to his music. He added an additional power source (battery in the trunk), to not mess with the factory wiring. I can't imagine you would want to add more to your setup

oh nice, another EE. I am his roommate. I bought some Arduinos and I am trying to think of projects to do with them. I don't see too many people making custom stuff for their cars but I think there is a lot of potential.

Yuriy, my motorcycle has a pair of taillight housings that aren't used. I want to put red LEDs in them so I have additional brake lights for safety, but I also want them to come on as blinkers.

It looks like this except the orange parts are red, and currently have no lights in them at all.

does it have to be lighting or just something electrical? Cause I'm thinking you could wire up a temperature sensor to make hvac pop on at preset temp. Sounds like something an electrical engineer could do. Heck you could probably just manipulate a small home thermostat and run it in the glove or console...i dunno. Just an idea.

I am currently looking for some DRL for my 2012 XB.......

Thinking that I am going to have to make my own though, the only ones I have seen are the TRD ones and they aren't what I am looking for.

Seeing as I am not an EE though......
If you came up with something cool, I would prolly buy them LOL

Make some BMW style halo's for our car, and you'd have a ton of sales for sure

Halo eye kits wouldn't be too hard to come up with. The only issue is I don't have an extra set of headlights to work with.

I'd be ok with baking my headlights, if I have the correct Halo's to mount in there!
