Default Head Room and height adjustable seat?

I sat in a Lava one at Haley Toyota near 288 and Hull St in Midlothian, VA.

Although it had plenty of leg and arm room I was an inch sitting slouched over in the seat from the roof. If I sat upright, my head touched the head liner.

The sales person tried to adjust the height and pumped the first lever on the side of the seat, but that seemed to only move it forwards and back.

Is the seat height adjustable? Is the ride bumpy?

I didnt bother test driving it for fear of putting a crink in my neck if I went over a bump the wrong way. I am the guy who removes the ribit from the center of his baseball cap to keep from getting a sharp pain in your head when going over bumps in a sub ultra mini compact car. :D

The car seemed wide than longer, like an XD that was made a 3 door hatch back vehicle.

There is no height adjustment on the seat. One lever is for the forward/back adjustment. The other lever is for the seat back.

I have plenty of head room. How tall are you?

This is my buddy Mike, he's 6'4".

Add 100 lbs to your friend and you got me. :D I just sat in it and fooled with the same lever the sales person did. I then sat up in the seat to see how much head, leg and arm room I had and felt my head touch the celling.

Maybe I will try it again? I dont want to try too much or I would likely trade or buy it. :D

Yeah i'm only 5'10" and if the seat isn't positioned just right my head can hit. MAJOR oversight in such a small car! hell, a Yaris can come with height adjustable drivers seat!

I wonder if the yaris seat will fit or if the stock seat can be hacked? I really like the leg and elbow room of the iq. The fact you can drive right into the curb vs parallel park is a win-win.

UMMM I'm pretty sure the iQ is still too long to park like that unless you like risking a ticket/ car crash

also, why look at a iQ when you already have a '10 car?

and I highly doubt your mileage but if you're getting even anywhere near that why go down almost half as much in a future/ next car?

I have a plug in kit, so for 4 hours I can almost hit 100mpg, then it returns to the 60s.

This car is rather long, Ive clipped curbs on right turns and the rear hatch can make parallel parking difficult. Plus I really like and miss the past 2 scions Ive owned. :D

anything i can add to this will just make someone angry. lol.

iQ's a great car but be sure it'ss too long to nose into a parallel spot.

Speaking on the original question I know it'd be a pain in the **** but a COMPETENT shop could cut and reweld the seat to lower it a bit for not too much money.

Keeping in mind that there is an air bag built into the seat, changing the height adjustment could cause a problem if it's ever deployed. No clue if that's true, just a thought that popped into my head.

only if it somehow interefered with the b pillar. I would worry about making one's self fit over a slightly oft placed airbag.

better for a side impact seat mounted airbag to fail then hit you head against the roof and break your neck.

BUT, very good point!

There are actually two air bags per seat. One on the side and one under your rump. That's an air bag I would not want to experience.
