Default no manual?!

I found out from Automobile the iQ will not be offered with a stick shift option. Is anyone else bummed about this? It is pretty much a deal breaker for me.

Not bummed at all. The CVT and motor make it zippy and friendly plus you can't drive a manual easily in San Francisco on the hills. It is all about urban friendly parking and driving.

runs you through the review. My Mom commutes from San Mateo to the bay and this is a perfect city car. The deposit is down. Here in the midwest I have horses and a Ram 1 ton dually and my wife never has to parallel park her xB.

Exactly, Toyota does not want some of these cars sitting on a lot just because they have a manual. I'm sure they are well aware some die hards will not consider this car because of the CVT but in the end it was a better business decision.

It is pretty small, do you think having a manual transmission would change anything?

why would the size of the car matter....?

duh.. it'll change significantly... having a clutch pedal is well... obvious.

This car needs a manual. Whether we get one or not is another story. CVT's are becoming more and more popular.

Me? Give me the manual please.

Driving enthusiasts like a manual transmission. Complaining that its hard to drive somewhere with hills is absolute tripe. Yes its is harder to park on a hill but the challenge is part of the fun and the reward is a job well done. Frankly automatic transmissions are for those that only see a car as a way to get from a to b. The car is so much more than that and that's the point of this site.
