Hotmail Users Please Read!
Hotmail is using a Microsoft spam filtering technology that seems to have eliminated the notification emails that our users rely on to stay updated. I have gone back and forth with Hotmail trying to get this solved, but each email gets more technical and more confusing and I am simply fristrated too much to deal with them anymore.
If you are using a Hotmail account you will probably not get any notification emails from this site. I suggest changing the email address on your ScionLife account to a non-Hotmail address so that you can stay up-to-date on your watched topics.

seems like you should be able to go into your preferences in hotmail and tell it to not send any emails from scionlife.com to go to junkmail but to the inbox. i just checked, you can tell it that its not junkmail, not sure how well it will work, I havent used hotmail for along time...

BOO!! That sux!! That's what I use all the time. I don't use my yahoo one that much. Grr hotmail you suck!!! Darren did they say they'd change it so that you could get SL emails??
No, they wanted me to jump through a bunch of hoops... although they wouldn't admit that a single spam email had ever come from our domain. When I asked why our emails didn't even show up in the spam folder they just changed the subject. Very suspicious.
I made a couple of changes, but I wouldn't hold your breath for anything to make a difference. Damn Hotmail.

Since we're on the topic...........
Is there a way to have the "Email me when another reply is made!" box automatically unchecked, permanently.
Because I dont want an email fron Scionlife saying someone replied to me. I used to get dozens of those a day, and it's extremely annoying...I'm glad i made Hotmail filter that email into my junk-email box.
Plus, wouldn't that mean less "bandwidth" or "emails" being sent out from your servers? Wouldn't that be "easier" on the site?

Uncheck the box when you make a post if you don't want to receive notification emails. If you want to clear ALL of your watched topic then click here:

Glad to see that a Hotmail user actually got an email!!!

I have used "Fastmail.fm" for over 4 years..
NO it is not "free" however ...
very little spam, inline virus checker, and way more bandwidth than I will ever use..and I send a lot of large pic's..(trucking loads to dispatch/safety)
as well as a lot of other features..ie: web hosting, domain hosting and so on
runs under $40 a year.. a lot less if you do multi-year subscription..
(yes it is ".fm"... not ".com")
