Pretty big. . . yes and no. Compared to racing engines that feature rediculous revs and insane hp, yes. I think F1 engines are around 3L or something like that. . . I forget, but it is small.

Compared to V8's of the same class. . . well not really. Mercedes has been making 5.0L V8's for a helluva long time. The 450's date back to the late 70's I think, and 4.6 is only .1L larger. The Q45 has been at 4.5L since it's inception back in the early 90's (was it 91 or 92?). But yeah, it's about an average size for it's class. However, the old 1UZ-FE and the updated 4.3L version was competitive with the larger engines utilized by the rivals, but now the 4.6L just blows them away.

The "hemi" engine was mentioned. . . keep in mind that it is a whopping 5.7L. . . and the SRT versions are 6.0/6.1L.

I wouldn't go so far as to insult domestic engines though. . . true the C7 Corvette's LS2 uses an ancient push rod valvetrain, but it gets the job done (and rather inexpensively). They are a big brute. . . but they definitely work. And GM actually had working prototypes of ALL aluminum engines almost 40 years ago (back in the '70's).

But I did always wonder what would happen if someone built a 6.0L V8 block with a sophisticated Quad-Cam valvetrain with all the bells and whistles.

It seems that the Bangle Butt is now the standard in high-end luxury cars. What is a Bangle Butt?

There can only be soo many different car designs without resulting in something that is offensive or polarising. I dont see too much of the 'bangle butt' in this car, if you look closely, you could see that it is quite distinct, maybe nothing more than a passing resemblance.
The friking media is gonna turn this into a sht storm and that bangle boy will go from highly criticised to publicly acclaimed.. oh dont you just love the power of the media

When I first saw a bangle butt, I nearly puked. I still gag seeing it on the 7 series. . . it was even worse on the Hyundai XG350 (I think the first car to copy that feature), it looks horrible on the S class and the Maybachs. . .

BUT, you know what, I kinda like it on the LS. It's subtle enough to where it looks good. On the other cars, it's so pronounced, they look like some sort of STD on the back of the car.

Yeah, I thought the 7-series was a horrible look... but my buddy bought one and it has grown on me...

It is less pronounced on the Lexus, and gives the trunk just the right amount of ooomph.

A 380hp, V8 powered rear wheel drive Camry? I didn't know they made such a creature.

The ES330 though, is in fact, a Camry in a tux.....literally.

I wonder what engine the next SC is going to come with.... the release photos of the new Supra looks to be built on an SC platform, and it's getting a 5liter V8... so I wonder if the SC is going to get that engine or not.... hmmm....

Oh well.... I got a Lexus VISA card a long time ago, to earn points towards purchasing a lexus, because I knew I was going to want one, one of these days...... that time may have come!

uhhhhhh, what would my payments be on that thing V? my limit is 200...maybe 250 a month. my credit is excellent and i have saved up for a big down payment...($500). oh, and i wanna finance it for 36 months. do i have to put a deposit down? woot.

i imagine that the hybrid would be like $80k. i'd rock that. although i'm only a scion salesman..so i can't afford it. although i am being promoted to fleet......wooooot. i hate living on my own, stupid bills before fun spending.
