Default Offical Release of 2007 Lexus ES350

02/08/2006 Chicago

The all-new 2007 Lexus ES 350 made its public debut today at the Chicago Auto Show. The all-new, fully redesigned ES marks the fourth Lexus sedan to benefit from the L-finesse design language. Going on sale in late April, the fifth-generation ES improves upon every level of comfort, safety, performance and craftsmanship in the elegant five-passenger sedan.

"We believe the newly revamped ES 350 is better in virtually every way than our original LS flagship sedan," said Lexus Group Vice President and General Manager Bob Carter. "It's faster, quieter and more powerful than the first LS that redefined the prestige luxury segment in the early 1990s."

Same platform. That's becoming the universal build platform - Avalon, Camry, New Highlander, New RX350, ES350.

I like how they used the tC as their test bed for the roof. Nicely integrated.

You know...I hope they fixed the rattle problems with that sunroof. Id be severely ____ed off if I paid $40K+ for a luxury vehicle with rattles.

It really is amazing that something off of a $16K car made it onto a lux.

dude lexus is ruining their reputation by bringing out cars that anybody can duplicate. look at it, there's absolutely nothing special about it

they should have gone a different route, and make it a performance sedan and gave it realloy unique styling

oh wellz, i'm starting to lose interest in lexus, too bad for them i don't think i'll be the only one

It's called the IS350, IS4XX. The ES series was never meant to be performance oriented. It's for people who want cheap luxury but in FWD format for the white/wet stuff. Acura's TL and RL are also FWD.
Older ES

They have always been pretty bland. . . that's why the older models still look new for their age. A 10 year old Lexus still looks good!

And this particular formula has helped Lexus lead the pack (by a HUGE margin) over the rest of the Japanese Luxury Brands (Infiniti and Acura). The Infiniti's have usually been faster, the Acura's ahve usually been sportier (handling) and sexier. Lexus outsells them all.

Toyota makes some of the most boring cars in the world. . . true. But Toyota is soon to be the number 1 selling vehicle manufacturer in the world. I wouldn't presume myself to be such a business genius as to criticize their tactics, that is unless I were some hot shot CEO or business professor.

I bet Toyota knows EXACTLY what it is doing. Btw, although the BMW 3 series does very well (in it's infinitely different variants), BMW has the equivalent market share of the auto industry as Apple does on Computers. That's not exactly mind blowing (as a business). And Apple was practically worthless, prior to the iPod.

lexus should have based the es on the avalon instead of the lowly camry from the beginning.

it does look pretty nice though.

NICE!!! Im still debating between the IS or the ES when I graduate. With Kids though, the ES is roomier, and stil runs a 15 sec 1/4 mile!

What do you think the Avalon is based on?

Default your looking at the 2007 camry and its much cheaper

this is a beautiful car but,its the duplicate to the 2007 camry i know because ive seen them.I work for toyta and scion. The smart buyer will get a camry hybrid and still save 7 to 10,000.00 over the lexus.unless you just have to have the L symbol for your ego.

Have you even been inside an ES330? There's a pretty substantial difference. You said you work for Toyota?

I mean, you could really say the same about a Chrysler 300 / Magnum / Mercedes E Class, couldn't you?

Mark Levinson sound system (one of the best OEM automotive sound systems in the world). I MUCH more refined interior and substantially increased sound dampening. The tC is basically a 2 door Camry, but there is a HUGE difference between the interior creaks and rattles of a tC and a Camry. The Suspension on an ES is more tuned towards the Luxury market. . . REAL wood interior, softer materials inside. . .

Man, and the funny thing is that a Fully loaded Camry XLE is very close to the price of an ES (especially with dealer mark up). It's worth it for the added features and comfort to get an ES, if you are in the luxury market.

And yes, it has ALWAYS been the upscale duplicate of a Camry. If a buyer didn't realize that, then they'd be pretty stupid.
