Official 2011 Scion tC Thread (2nd gen)
Again with the introduction of tCs in silver, ha ha. What's up with that?
It doesn't look too bad. I do see some hints of roof line styling bitten off from the Scion Fuse. It woulda been more appealing to me if they kept the curves from the Fuse.

A lil side by side comparison:

Reminds me of the 2nd gen to 3rd gen Eclipse.
I zone out people who say "Toyotas have no soul" and think if they saw some of the models w/o the badge they'd have a more positive opinion (especially with their euro and JDM models). However with the 2nd gen I can finally agree with that mindset. After looking at the reveal, I had more appreciation for the 1st gens as I saw them on the road. It reminded of me of when I was without my car for almost a month and seemed to notice more tCs on the road. Don't get up, I'll get a tissue myself.
Anyone else think the tails are like the 1-series?

The tails to me keep reminding me of the old celica, and the avalon.
If your goal was to suck to soul out of the old tC1 and replace it with something boring and flat, then they have met their goal! Everytime I look at this I keep asking "WHY!??" It doesn't flow well and it's not that exciting at all. :? The plastic inside looks cheaper than KIA or Hyundai. and thats saying something.
Its safe to say I'm pretty much done with Scion. Everything they have looks horrible except for the iQ but with no manual tranny I'm gonna have to skip out on it. Only car I'm interested in, thats by Toyota, is the new FT-86. If that falls through, I'm gonna have to ditch Toyota for something better. I hear Nissan is bring back the 240sx....
im think im done with scions, after 2 of them i really dont think i have the luck for them, gonna just go to iraq for a year and when i come back ill buy the ft-86 with all the money i saved.
those 18"s will look good on my tC when they start popping up on craigslist. other than that not a fan of the new design which is a relief for me because it just makes the first gen tC look that much better.

Did they even show this car to anyone? It's almost like the Pontiac Aztek, to a lesser extent. Hmmmm, let's make the back square and the front round. Great idea, Scion.
I'll bet they had a Miami focus group of about 5 of the biggest Scion fanboys, who'll smile and give a thumbs up for anything, so long as they get a free keychain. Yeah, free keychains make my $17,000 car purchase worth it. . . [/sarcasm]
All the scion swag and events are cool, but it's supposed to come AFTER the product itself. The products should be the best, period. The experience is what seals the deal. Just look at Toyota dealers. I'm sure things have changed in the past few years, but not too long ago, they rated AT THE VERY BOTTOM in customer service and satisfaction. The reason Toyota sold so many cars was because they were damn good cars.
As to this redesign, IMO it is utter fail. Yeah, you can mod it and make it look cool, but you can do the same to a Pontiac Aztek.

Fact is that most owners will do nothing except a couple of blue headlight bulbs, some LED windshield washer nozzles, and an air freshner. . . and probably a Mugen sticker or two. It's fact. Just go out to any parking lot and look for a modded Scion. Odds are, there are only $5 worth of mods and they are REAAAAALLLY ugly.
Nice mods are expensive and a EXTREMELY rare.
Finally, the powertrain is total win. Man, it's almost a shame. Having seen this redesign, I almost wish that they put this powertrain in the older bodystyle (even though it is dated and all too common). 6 speed and 180hp. That's pretty much what everyone (who was being reasonable) was asking for. We were looking for RSX/Celica performance numbers, and now we got it (so long as weight is kept down). That extra 20HP and gear would have really made the tC THAT much more fun to drive.
