lets recap:
the new xB and xD, are both wider, lower and heavier than their predecessors... both are duds. failing to have the magic of the previous models. (the cheap plastic interiors don't help either)

new tC -- also wider, lower and (i'm guessing) heavier. it too has the very evident 'cost cutting' design features of the xB and xD - cheap shiny plastic all over the place

guess Scion didn't learn its lesson from the xB and xD, and was too interested in increasing profits and lowering manufacturing/parts costs...
its official: the Scion brand is dead

 

Someone go check your tC, does the auto up/down button say AUTO on both buttons? If so, then they got rid of the best feature the first gen had. I ____ing HATE my WRX window switches.

I like the Five Axis version. I need to see it in person though. I hope they bring one to Exposed this weekend.

Interior looks a hell of a lot better. Doesn't look as cheap, especially the gauges. I really hope they fixed all the rattling issues. Tails are so-so, but not as bad as I thought. Rear quarter is kind of strange, they should have extended the window back. That looks like it's gonna be a huge blind spot. The stock 18s are a nice touch and it doesn't look like the ride height is as bad as the first gen. More power and the 6-speed is the best thing it has going for it.

Will I trade my first gen for it? No.
Will I buy a second gen? Maybe.

 

they kinda had to make the interior cheap in order to keep the price down. The engine and tranny was what killed the pricing.

Okay, it looks like the iQ has auto up/down for both windows, because it says AUTO on both switches. The new tC only says AUTO on the D/S switch.



That's a fail of epic proportions right there if it really doesn't have auto up/down for both.

Ya, not sure. Kind of scratching my head there. Won't know til we get a wheel on the scale and compare though.

I'm pretty sure it says "all auto" above or below the switches, not on the actual switch.

 

i actually like the iQ more, too bad they didn't offer a manual for it.

the 6 speed automatic is good for people that dont want a manual.
speakers are interesting, i would really like to hear what it sounds like.
i like the side profile shot of it, but the rear is killing me.
the front side vents are killing me too

guess i will just have to wait until they release them for sale so I can get a first hand look at it and test drive one. I can defiantly say I am not going to be trading my car in anytime soon for this one.

 

Aaaahahaha, I totally missed that. Those controls SUCK! It looks like they're cheapening it out as much as possible, and they very well could've gone WAY WAY WAY overboard with that aspect. Do you remember how every single reviewer mentioned the all-aluminum temperature control **** on the tC? It's neat, slick, out of the way, and high-tech. They trade that for twisty ***** and analog controls? WTF?

Anybody know what size speaker that largest one is in the door? My main complaint about the stereo was the fact that the biggest speaker you could get in there was a 5 1/4.

Jeez, still can't get over those HVAC controls. Those are flat out terrible...

I'm just STARING at those tail lights... Trying really hard to like them... But the rear end of this car is hard on the eyes.

The front is a nice update... But this is far from a complete "redesign". It took 6 years for this?

Just Imagine... In six more years, when Scion decides to release the 3rd gen tC, the tC will be pushing nearly 200hp...YAY

 

I like the seats and the new steering wheel for sure. Still on the fence over the dash center but i like the new tach design in front of the wheel. Dont like what the shifter looks like. The body back end looks like a mustang and the red body kit makes it so much more mustangish to me. Looks cool bet the doors are still super heavy. will bloodshot red be a normal color to choose from? or is that a release series color or something?

wonder how much of our mods will fit this car

This car probably looks a lot better in person. Just like the 370, looked like crap in pictures but when I saw it in person, I fell in love with it.

in 6 years they should totally remodel the tC
to like a tank or a jet or something.
then it would be worth buying.
