Scion Fuse to be Unveiled at NY Auto Show
TORRANCE, Calif., March 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Scion will unveil an all-new sports coupe concept called the Scion Fuse at the 2006 New York International Auto Show. The Scion press conference will take place on Wednesday, April 12 at 2:00 PM ET in the Special Events Hall in Javits Convention Center. A video clip of the press conference will be available for viewing following the event on the Scion.com website.
The concept will feature a chopped top and a short snout, but we're told those aren't necessarily future Scion styling cues. There's a clever techie gimmick, too: turn signals built into the wheels.
Scion execs decline to say whether the coupe actually points the way toward a future production model, as last year's futuristic xB concept did, or is just a pure styling exercise done for fun.

I have a call in to my Scion Rep, but I doubt he will give me info to leak. I'll try for you guys though. Wouldn't surprise me if it was a proto for the TC replacement. 24 Months has been the normal proto to production lately (FJ, FTX, bB/XB)
this car will decide wether or not i dump tons of money into my tC or if i trade it in.
*prays for 200hp, RWDand a beautiful body and interior*

my guess is a trd s/c model with all the performance goodies, springs/shocks 6spd racing seats, priced at 22,000 to go head to head with the GTI. then of course the base model with out the goodies to start at ~17,000. also....this could be the unvailing of the tC RS2.0

but good guess
It may just be, like previously stated, the official unveiling of the tC RS2.0 or the first look @ the long-rumored tC "tuner edition" i.e. a stripped down tC with less features to lighten it up and knock the price down even more.
I hope that its somthing bigger than that, like a glimpse of the tC replacement. And I also hope it looks nothing like that ccX concept.

well, concept implies something totally different. I don't think that they would call the unveiling of the RS a concept. As far as the concept, it's hard to put weight into it, as far as letting it determine you future purchases. Toyota isn't known for putting concepts into production, i think the closest thing was the FJ cruiser.
That daihatsu is coool, if it's turbo.

hi guys...
i have sources that say some japanese engeneers were spotted in some southern california dealership talking to local scion managers about the next generation tC..
I offered a 350tC (new Toyota-Lexus engine ;~) with dual exshust and push botton start :~)
from what i picked up from them - next gen. tC will have bluetooth, wi-fi, and hard-top conv. :~)
all affordable
