Whoever noticed that the TC didn't have a glass roof - good eye! The pictures posted are of the prototype and will not be the ones you will be getting. There are only 10 of the actual prototype comic books in existance with the mistake in them. I have #3 of 10.
Thanks for all your support. tCya's debut at the Pre Party for the Dallas Exposed Show was a success. The green hair was pretty cool too. Thanks again.
I can't wait to see what this is gonna look like.

There's going to be a lawsuit if Toyota goes through with this:

CrossGen comics could use the money, I guess...

nawh, I dont see how there could possibly be a lawsuit. Scion is not the name of the comic, the name of the comic is Urban Legends. the Scion Comix Series is using the name as refering to the cars, therefore, they are still in their copyright boundries. NOW, if they called the book itself SCIONS...THEN there could possibly be a lawsuit.
The thing is that Toyota has trademarked the name "Scion" so they can use it all they want. The comic book Scion is not a trademarked name. If it came down to it though, they could just call it "Scions" with that "s" added at the end it makes it a whole different name. But I know that they are not using either of those as previously stated by SirScion.

It is a good way to either make some money or test the water. Either way.. regardless of art.. give it a chance, then talk your little 2cent garbage ;)
First and formost, I COMPLETELY agree with you about not talking smack. But I just wanted to remind you that Toyota is great as a Company, and running things efficiently (which results in lower costs and higher quality). However, be reminded that Toyota's marketing department isn't exactly stellar. . . prior to Scion, the median age of buyers was soaring, and the created the Echo to address this problem, which was a stellar success (I'm being sarcastic). Furthermore, diversification seems to do little for general profitability. Reinvesting in R&D is far more productive in the long run than risky advertising campaigns (as opposed to proven forms). . . and this example is nothing more than a risky marketing ploy. If it is successful, then kudos to Toyota, and money well spent. If not, then it's a complete waste of money. But I wouldn't go so far as to herald these people as geniuses.
Toyota is also known for hiring lame-duck Japanese advertising companies to come up with ads that look good to the Japanese and HORRIBLE to the US. We've had such REDICULOUS slogans as "for everyday people." Most people will interpret that as boring, and look at the general emotion that most Toyota's evoke. . . boring. Toyota had launched a TERRIBLE slogan campaign for the Celica. . . "looks fast." In fact, Toyota has changed slogans more times than I can count within the last decade. Yes, the domestics run a cruddy company, but their ads people know what they are doing. "Chevy; like a rock." "Built Ford Tough." "BMW: The Ultimate Driving Machine." Now the Lexus ads of the early 90's were genius. "Got Milk" is genius. Advertising/marketing success is dictated by its effect on sales . That's the bottom line.
Finally, the amount of money you make has very little to do with your intellect. I'm no left wing fanatic, but most of us would admit that George Bush is pretty damn stupid. BTW, his net worth is more than most of the people on SL put together. I don't think of him as a complete idiot, but I don't think he's GOD either.
But I agree with your point that we should be careful who we criticize, minding who we are relative to who THEY are.
