Thank you for participating in this study.
Unfortunately you are not eligible for this particular study.
However we appreciate that you took the time to participate.
We look forward to inviting you to a future study.
I like that they appreciate the fifteen seconds I wasted on this. I look forward to being rejected again in the future.

They are obviously looking to get information from a specific demographic, and if one is NOT in that demographic, they do not want to corrupt the study...

Yup. They want the opinions of the demographic they are specifically aiming for, not the opinions of us older folks.

Remember, Toyota is trying to form and shape the Scion image to primarily appeal to those in a specific age group, etc. THey want the opinions of those in that age group ONLY, and don't want the opinions of those outside that age group to taint the answers.

Wierd that cobb and tolow81 did it and they're 31 and 38, respectively. I'm 34 and it didn't want my opinion. I'm not upset or anything, just very curious as to what they're aiming for. Targetting young people is great and all, but I hope they don;t go and release a special Pokemon edition or anything.

Gee, you'd think Scion was a youth brand or something!

Boy, I have a really good chance at this iPod, since it's only letting 1 out of 50 people actually take the survey

Very lame to entice with promise of prizes and then not allowed to participate. I took my time to answer questions I should still be eligible for said prizes even if you don't want me "corrupting" the results.

interesting, very very interesting.

so have been retaking the survey, and it doesn't appear age means that much, but it's "what cars are you currently interested in"?

Ok, now they're asking me specifically about the:

HHR
Mustang
Rabbit
tC

I specifically can't get through if I put down that I'm looking at a GTI, but I can if I put down Rabbit instead... so guess that the 20k+ turbo replacement for the tC is out. guess they're probably cutting out anybody who puts down a 20k car. damn.

With their market share taking a dive, you would think they would be happy
with ANY age group who wants to buy a Scion.

Glad we did not have an age restriction to buy our xB... us old folks have
been doing mods to our cars for a very long time. Wheels, sound systems,
paint, all of it. Why would we change just because of a few wrinkles?

When it comes to your ride, age has no limit. Just because your over 45
does not mean you will get up one morning and say " Man... would my car
look great with STOCK wheels and I wish it could go SLOWER"!!!!!!

Funny? Maybe its because I told them I make nearly 50 grand last year when I filed for taxes? Maybe it was because I told them I was interested in a prius?

I answered all the questions, for the most part it seemed to center around the website and how I would contact a dealer for a test drive or purchase. Then rather I would use edmunds, scion or dub or some other source. Basically the same stupid question reworded.

Not that I am an expert on academic psychology, but I recall the soc classes I took how they had trick questions to see if you are lying when it came to surveys.

One trick question I remember was that you love everybody. If you answered yes, they knew the test was flawed.

Then they ask you basically the same stupid question but rate it 10 to 1 vs 1 to 10 and use double negatives. How likely are you to visit the scion page for future news? How not likely are you to visit the scion page for news? How likely are you not going to visit the scion pages for future updates?
