SAN DIEGO — The youth-targeted Scion brand led Toyota to more segment wins than any other automaker in a buyer satisfaction survey released Monday by Strategic Vision Inc.
General Motors was the top performer among U.S. automakers, with the Chevrolet Tahoe winning in the large-SUV segment of the survey and the GMC Sierra 2500/3500 earning heavy-duty pickup honors. Buyers of 2005 model-year vehicles were asked about whether their vehicles met expectations for price and fuel economy, and were also queried about their emotional responses to the vehicles.
Scion owners gave the strongest responses in terms of their vehicles' affordability, fuel economy, standard equipment and other factors. Toyota had seven segment winners overall, including two Lexus sedans and the Toyota 4Runner SUV.
What this means to you: Mighty Toyota continues to win the hearts — and pocketbooks — of buyers.
