Might not 6 mos later and the XB rs 6.0'S are still out there..remember when you could not get your hands on one?

Negative come from fail....and if everyone goes woo hoo we like lame the RS packages... that is all we will get....more of the same

You misread my post. Why not give both RS xD and xB the 900BT unit? Why stiff the xD with the lower, non DVD watching model? That is what I meant.

I'm not the only one that is thinking Scion is getting cheaper with what they're offering us (potential car buyers) with these weak RS versions. Yes I understand they're cutting back for cost reasons, but still, its really sad to see very watered down, luke warm, RS cars being offered. Had they released something like the RS 1 xD, different kit and color (purple!) I would have traded in my car for it.

 

well, maybe Scion is pushing us to mod the car ourselves. I mean, most of us change out the parts on RS's anyway. so they gave us a blank RS canvas fro us to play with. all the negativity could hurt Scion's sales as more than current Scion owners are reading this. there is already one that has one up fpr sale and won;t buy this car or any Scion maybe for that matter. That's NOT what Scion wants.

 

Ok, so if original paint isnt original, than what is? Does every RS kit have to come with a lip or body kit? Or some wheels? Or other factory options?

The RS6 xBs have not sold well for one reason, the color. Its either you love it or hate it.

You have to think from Scions marketing point of view. Months after the RS1 xD came out there were still brand new xDs on the lot - they did not sell nearly as fast as Scion thought they would. Why? Because people were buying stock xDs since they were 2k cheaper. The economy is just as bad or even worse now than it was a year ago, so learning from mistakes, are they really going to put together an RS package that is not going to sell because of price? Any marketing manager would be fired if they excepted a new RS xD 2k cheaper than a stock xD to sell when history already tells us that it won't.

 

yeah but this is only $500.00 cheaper...and c'mon you think the value is equal....look back at the early RS's across all the models they were soooo much better and each had different options...they were to cheap to even color match the interior....
yeah the economy sucks your right and I am in custom home building which is the worst place to be 20% unemployment in my industry..HOWEVER..we now sell for less and MORE value for the cost..funny how how it works we are able to write contracts..maybe Scion could learn something

 

I never said I thought the value was equal, you just have to understand WHY scion is cutting back on the RS accessories and also cutting back on the price of the RS packages.

Also, margin dollars on the scions are very low and people are already getting a great value for their money, are we to expect toyota to really slash prices when we saw last year they had negative earnings?

 

Uh... I highly doubt someone would be swayed from NOT buying the RS xD 2.0 from reading the forums. If they are interested in it, its most likely because of the color and the limited options on it. Your average car buyer is not going to go get a new headunit installed in their car after getting it. Most want it pre-done for them.

If they're swayed against the new RS, then they weren't that sold on it in the first place.

 

I LIKE IT. It's a smooth color and would look cool with some chrome add on. I could do alot with this car.

 

minus the tC's, what other RS pkg's have better value? the tC's don't count cuz Scion focused on their bread and butter there. as I said, all the xB's were mostly a color. there were mirror covers and maybe rims one was a hHU and screens. the xA's were a color and one had red threads. so where is the value in those? all the old people drive those herre. must've been a great value. for them

Ltd., is a polarized paint line that changes color depending on the viewing angle or light reflection. You know the Kia Soul special editions aren't gonna be much better it seems..so Scion isn't the only one

 

I stopped by my local dealer this weekend to see if they had one. I got to see it in person and the color is actually pretty cool looking. If I had my choice it would be brighter, but I liked the color alot. They would be a nice start to a custom xD.
