Scion being a poor attempt to get lil' kiddies to jump on the car scene?

Seemed like it work since there are so many manufacturers also aiming at 'youth' crowds with their versions of a box and peppy coupes.

I could care less what people say though. Hell people think that all my cars are 'chick' cars...

I bought my tC because it looked nice, I could customize it to some extent and it would be reliable like Toyota cars usually are. I wasn't looking for performance, if I was I would have gone a different route. It has enough horse power to do what it needs to for what I use it for

I will agree to some extent that the tc is a poser car... but thats what i drive and i love it. the tc is suppose to be a base with a variety of modifications that can be done to it, it is by no means a "racecar" direct from factory,i think that in the hands of someone with knowledge and common sense it can be something more. for instance the new 1500 hp AWD time attack car drive by Chris Rado http://octanereport.com/tuned-cars/2...-scion-tc.html

I think they are mostly talking about the people who get a TC thinking that it is some sort of race car and rice it out to where it looks like something you got out of the bottom of a cereal box.

The TC is a good cheap economical daily driver, for those who don't have $30k to throw down at something a bit more sporty and powerful. Also for those who don't want any excess, if you don't need the power or luxury of a more expensive car, then why get one?

Unfortunately, no matter how much money you throw down on one, it will still (most likely) be FWD, which severely limits the car's potential.

The limit being 9sec 1/4 miles, low 1:00 marks around the race track...I'm content with that limitation. Don't know to many people who wouldn't be.

I have had high powered FWD vehicles in the past. One thing they all have in common, no traction. I don't care much for numbers, I care more about real world performance for a reasonable price. I don't want to spend $50k making a slow car go fast, I would rather keep it stock and buy a corvette for the weekends.

What does a 9sec FWD have in common with a 9sec AWD or RWD....they all have 9sec 1/4 mile pass and are fast/quick. Don't matter what the drivetrain is, a fast/quick car is a fast/quick car. "don't care much for numbers?"....so what tickles your fancy..driving to the grocery store to look good? Showing up at car meets with an expensive car but can't really push it to it's limits? Not sure what to make of the "don't care much for numbers" part.

Building your car to reach 9, 10, 11sec 1/4 mile times, or reaching fast lap times around a road course is what..."fake world performance"? I don't get your "real world performance" comment either.

I didn't spend $50k to be faster than the cars around me, nor to pass up guys in Vette's at the track. You can buy a car, or you can build one...there is no right and wrong. I enjoy building mine. There is a bond you create when you build something from stellar beginnings. It's like watching your child grow up.
