Sorry for double posting, but the last thing I noticed is the navigation bar at the top. When you highlight over "ScionLife Forums", it only shows you one link for xB Forums. Upon clicking that, it takes you to a page where it only shows the xB First Generation, but there's no Second Generation, which is what I have. So then I have to scroll all the way down and click the drop down "Forum Jump" box and scroll through that until I find the xB2 Forums I want to visit.

Not for me it isn't - I did that, and there are only two threads; one from yesterday, and one from 2006. I had > 250 before the change.

Overall, don't like the new format at all. Shouldn't have to 'hunt' for everything which was so easily found before. I'm lost.

Relatively fast here at home, but for some reason at work (T1 connection) it's agonizingly slow. Never was slow before, with the exception of the horror show we had to endure for the last month or so. The only 'plus' so far since the change, no 'critical error' messages - that's not saying much.

I suppose we have no choice but to get used to it, and maybe will in time, but in my opinion this was a giant step backwards. This was my #1 site before - to keep the Borat theme, now.... "not so much".

Sorry for the negativity, but just giving honest feedback. Very disappointed.

not super excited about it....

I use to bookmark 'my posts' (ego search), but can't do that now since the searchid changes every time.

plus the menus are only one deep. I use to hover over regional area, then click on mid atlantic. now i have to click regional, and then find midatlantic in the thread group list.

the site is fine, i know plenty of other forums using this backend, so i can use it easy enough, but I do miss the scionlife specific features it use to have.

::shrugs:: I can figure it out easy enough

honestly, i like the old one better. not because the design was better, but because things seemed much more easily accessible.

for example, the my posts, click that before and all your old posts show up in reverse chronological order. now, its like... within a day? a week?

or inbox. i go to userCP, it shows... messages. i dont even know why those messages, but they're not even the most recent ones. i click another link above them for "new private messages" and then there they are. confusing.

anyway maybe thats just me being confused, but things just dont seem as straightforward as they were before.

this is not to say i dont appreciate change or the great lengths of effort put into all of this. im a web designer and set up forums myself. its hard. anyway just my two cents!

Very nice, you can please half the people half the time but you can't please all the people all the time.

Haven't been here in a while.. but I'm loving the new forums!

vB trumps so much over PHPBB.. aesthetics-wise, as well as performance.

It's nice but... too confusing. I won't be using SL that often anymore because of this layout.

:-( yeah i think I'm going to have to agree that the old site was better. I mean the new one looks great and all, but that's about it. I can't figure out how to navigate it at all, and it seems that i have to log in all the time now.

Thumbs down

Looks like a step-back from 1.0... almost feels like another site rip-off/cheap (if not free) website template.

What? And now each post gets moderated beforehand? Is that just for this topic or all of them now? Either way, find that sort of ridiculous and almost like something a communist board would do.
