[YAHWR] Yet Another Harness Wiring Request
I've had the TRD Fogs for a bit now and I also have an aftermarket harness kit that I want to use. Only problem is that this is all foreign to me and I couldn't figure this out once I got down under the car. I'm hoping you guys can help me out
Here is the actual diagram that comes with the harness kit.

Now what I don't know is, do I need to ground all [3] of those wires or just one? And do they all need to go to the same contact point?
I would also like them to turn on with the headlights but would that be way out of my league to try or is it feasible? [looking back at the diagram, is that the only way it sets up?] How do I get the red power wire to attach to the parking/headlight (+) wire? soldering or a t-tap? [i think thats what they are called]
Anyway, sorry for sounding dumb about all of this, but I'm trying my best to figure it out. Thanks everyone!

all the wires in that diagram that say they need to be grounded need to be grounded. They can be grounded anywhere you can find a bolt that goes into the frame. they can be in different locations. you want them to turn on with the headlights? ummm the switch... cut it off. there should be 3 wires. ground (for hte led inside of it, usually a black wire) and then 2 other wires (power in, power out). Connect the 2 wires together so that it simulates the switch being constantly on. make sure that you tap the low beam bulbs if you want them to come on with the low beams. you can use a wire tap (aka t-tap)
You'll want to ground all 3 points, not necessarily in the same place.
As for the red wire question, my guess is that its purpose is to only allow the LED switch to turn the fogs on if the normal headlights are already on. If that's true, leaving the LED switch always on would make the fogs work whenever the headlights are on, turning it off would leave just the regular headlights on, and if you want to rig something up so that the red wire is always getting current (as in, hook it to an unrelated wire that is always "on", like the cig lighter wiring), then you could have only the fogs on if you wanted.
As for which wires to tap, there's a lot of info around the forums on the dash wiring. T-Taps would work, but solder is always better if you can manage it. You should do a search and find out what all will be involved before you decide.
Just curious, you said you've got the TRD fogs. Are those different than the regular OEM fogs? Why use a different harness than the one you're running now?

Thanks you two very much for the feedback, this helps a lot. Soon as I get some ramps / lifts, I'll be right back under there and give it another shot.
I think wiring the 2 wires together, to keep the fogs on w/ the headlights only] is a bit simpler then tapping into another wire, but I'm going to think about both methods.
Sorry, I meant the OEM Fogs, I don't know why I said TRD. I bought the lights from this forum and they didn't come with the harness, and I read the harness is 50$+, so I bought this one instead.
Thanks again!
