Default 07 Rearview mirror light crack

Hi guys, so i have an 07 tc that has the light portion of the left rearview mirror cracked and missing a piece. the light still works, but i can just see into it and see the bulb.

Do i have to re-buy the entire rearview mirror attachment, or is there that one piece of plastic that covers the light that i can buy? Links, etc would be helpful.

Cheers!

part 4 on this image, correct?

you have to buy the whole part. the lens and the plastic housing with the yellow LEDs soldered on is one solid assembly.

yes you can just replace it if you ordered the part i linked, 4 on that diagram.

it isn't a bulb, there are LEDs soldered on. the whole thing is one piece.
you're not normally supposed to remove the lens or change the LEDs inside.
but some people do cut the lens off and solder in new LEDs, then glue it all back together.

Yep i did! Thanks for the help!
Do you know how i would take the portion off? I think I read somewhere about pulling it off directly (the large piece on the back of the rearview mirror) and then take steps necessary from there. Not too sure though!

Okay so i got the new replacement, but it comes with 2 wires sticking out of it. However when i detach the old one off the body it is a plug...I can't plug it into the new one cause of the two wires sticking out of the new signal light that blocks it.

anyone?

the two wires don't go into a plug that you could just remove and use what is already on the car?

Nope. As per the original light that I took out it was simply a socket that received the plastic part from the car itself (which had two wires going into it)

Now I have 2 wires from the Replacement part that won't allow the socket to go in...

Not too sure if I'm supposed to strip some wires and stick those wires into them or not...Confusing as hell

without being able to see anything, the way your wording it is kinda confusing to me to be honest, you could have the wrong part or something.
i guess you'll have to strip the wires and solder them to make a connection with the new light.

Imagine picture 4 you posted, with 2 wires sticking out of the hole where the plug should be.

As a result, I can't plug it in. Hopefully this clears anything up.
