anyone have hids in 08 projectors? i have the sizzling crimson tc and i think the 12000k hids would look sexy...any help and/or pics would be nice

 

12k is pure purple. It will not look sexy, your eyes will hurt after a week of driving. $20 says you get a ticket in that week aswell.

well, that is kinda hard to say, the stock lights on my dad's porsche cayenne are kinda purpleish...but yeah, you'll probably get a ticket.

 

^^ Except his purplish look is from the projectors, not purple bulbs. 12K will ____ off other drivers.

 

what color is 4k 6k 8k and 10k? I dont understand how the whole ????k thing works

 

aftermarket hid manufacturers add more salt and other minerals into the hid capsule changing the output color, it has nothing to do with 8k 10k 12k, and there is no way of checking exact color output without breking apart the hid capsule, some one 10k, may look bluer then anothers 10k, stick with oem 4300k bulbs!!

 

You can search on these fourms, there are pictures of each kelvin. Generally, 4000k is pure white with a hint of yellow, 6000K is white with a hint of blue, 8000k is blue, and 10000k is blue with some purple. The higher K you go, the more purple/pink the light looks, but you also lose light output. 4300k will put out more light than 12000k will.

 

6000k is a good medium between looks and performance. anything above 8k, you're going to get pulled over pretty quick i'd say
