I get good reception too. I just went with it cuz it was the cheap way out but ended up being the best solution. I actually listened to the radio yesterday to resolve the question of whether it gets good reception or not. Looks like I made out like a Bandit!

I'd love to shave the thing completely, and run some type of internal antenna (even though I don't use the radio, I hate breaking things).
But its one of those things taht would be wayyyy more trouble than its worth.
