i like how people defends products that they actually don't own ^__^

oh what? u gonna say, 'I like how people criticize products that they don't own'?

well i look at clothes before buying them even if they are my favorite brand. Infact, everyone does. Unless you have your mom buying your clothes

what i find funny is that most of the people here who order stuff for their car do not see it in person prior to ordering so yes its easy to defend a product i dont own. i am in no way affiliated with the company who makes those projectors, i like the way they look though. too many people critiqueing every little detail about them, so they might not be glass projectors, so they may shine straight up in the air, so what. this company delivered a product WAY before others who only talk about theirs. talk is cheap and in my opinion, these projectors look pretty good. on a 10 scale i give them an 8. if i wasnt leaving for 6 months i would already have them, but i see no purpose in dropping 300 bucks if i wont be able to enjoy them for a long time. best to wait in my case.

i believe you order products online as well with out actually seeing it ( not including products on your car). you do not have to see products in person to crique them. Online provides all the information necessary for people to make a purchase decision. I believe this post have enough information for anyone to freely post their opinions. It even have pictures showing cutoffs with an HID kit.

Products are reviewed/critiqued online all the time. If you don't wanna hear our crap, don't read about it.

if you like it, by all means, get it

i dont mind critiqueing, what i mind is people talking **** about cutoff lines so on so forth. none of you have taken into account his ability to install and line up his headlights, installation is a huge part of the cutoff, if they arent lined up, then you will get a crazy looking line. but on that note, who cares. i wouldnt care if they were pointed straight up in the air, they are good looking headlights.

Sorry, If my comments have offended anyone. Although I cannot see why anyone with common sense would be offended by someone who is merely looking out for their best interest. I was never getting at Nakioki. He stated from the very beginning that he had the cash and was buying to test them out for everybody, doesn't even seem like he is thinking about these lights as a long term solution. I am grateful for the risk he took and I think it has been a great benifit to the scion community. I just commented on some of the issues the projectors were having that it seemed Nakioki was overlooking, or glossing over as a minor flaw. I realize that everyone doesn't have knowledge of what basic requireents you need in a headlight system, but that's why I posted. And this is not an HID thing, its a headlights thing. I thought I was doing you guys a favor, but like I said it is your money, do with it what you like. There is only one point that I have been trying to get across for the past 4 posts and I will now state for the final time in this thread. Its not that the cuttoff is not absolutely perfect, its that it is completely wrong. Its like someone making a big break kit and forgetting to put the pad in one of the calipers. May not seem like a big deal, you can always go buy a break pad. But would you buy again from a company that would ignore the basic requirement of break pads for all calipers?

For those that do not know. the crookedness has nothing to do with the install. There is only one way the headlights can fit into the front bumper, it is impossible to screw up. The fact that both members that have these lights have the same cuttoff should be enough to illistrate the point.

If you don't care about blinding people, then #1 you must be incredably inconsiderate and immature. #2 You must have unlimited resources for cops giving you tickets #3 then why waste money on projectors. The only reason why I even care, is because in the scion community, as apposed to other communities, civic etc., it seems that people actually care about the quality of products that come out for our car. That is why their are few 35$ CAI systems, 45$ clutches, ricey tail lights, $200 body kits, and 35$ exhaust made specificly for the tC like there are for some other cars. If you guys don't want to make noise on this issue, this company has no need to correct their design flaw, afterall you guys could care less about safety and are willing to pay hundreds more for products that other car owners get for much cheaper. Great, have a ball.

I saw nothing wrong with these lights untill I saw the cuttoff. It's not about being demanding, a horizontal cutoff is the basic requirement for all headlights, projector or reflector, yet some of you are comfortable buying a product that ignores this. It is worse than you think. If someone would take a pic at 25-35 feet you will see that the edges of the cuttoff are probably 5-7 feet off the ground. Directly into the eyes of on comming traffic. I could be wrong about this and I would love for someone to take a pic and prove me wrong.

Either way, this is my last preachy post in this forum. But in closing I will say this, by purchasing this product at full price you are all sending a message to manufacturers that they can skip on research and quality, and that scion owners will over pay for substandered parts. This will have an effect whether you think so or notl. O.K. let the flaming commence!

im assuming you do not know how a projector looks like internally. a mounted projector should allow you to aim the lights up and down, i twill not allow you to rotate the projector

also tinted bulbs reduces life span of bulbs and they cost alot

thats crazy considering im still on the same tinted bulbs from 2 years ago.. on top of that when you buy japanese tinted bulbs they last longer then stock bulbs, retain their color, and dont cost more then 30 a set. hids on the other hand will run you 300 for a good set, and god knows how expensive replacement bulbs for those cost. so ill tell you what make your decision, ive made mine. as far as knowing what a projector looks like internally, your right i dont know, nor would i want to know. honestly who cares, they look good on the outside, and as long as they dont break i could care less if they are duct taped on the inside, as long as i cant see it and they hold up.

my only response was to the cosmetic hit, i could care less in how the headlights shine. and thats not true, headlights can be adjusted, and there is ways to adjust them. nothing in this world is perfect, if there is a small flaw you might have to shim 1 bolt on the headlight, no big deal. im not looking to ____ in anyones cheerios but i honestly think they are decent LOOKING headlights. as far as the requirements for a headlight system, its easy. bulbs power and a lens. you can break it down to a science, but its unnecessary. keep in mind we are driving a scion, there most likely not gonna release mercedes/bmw quality projectors for a 17k dollar car, its just not economical. the point is to get headlights the quality that everyone on this web page believes they should be your looking at alot more money then what this headlights cost.

im referring to both.. retro'd look good, gives you an original look, but not worth the money. hid bulbs look good, but definitely not worth the money. a good set of japanese bulbs are more then suitable. i live in a city, there is no where where i could put hid's to any kind of use. it doesnt get pitch black here, and i can see fine with the headlights i have. i cant justify spending 300 bucks on some bulbs.

If HIDs are so pointless then why are you trying so desperately to copy them with your blue halogens? I said I was going to stop so someone please inform this kid. Your so out of your eliment, your like a deer in ricey blue headlights.

rofl im out of my element? and your calling me a kid? what i find funny is number 1, your the same age as myself, number 2 your willing to drop 300 bucks on some headlight bulbs. tell me, wtf do they do for you that you can justify spending 300 bucks on bulbs? as far as changing the bulbs? i prefer the pure white color to the yellow color of the stock bulbs, just a personal preference. as far as ricey, hardly. too many stereotypes on this page. my car is far from ricey so before you comment on anything know what your talking about. as far as your going to stop who are you looking for to help you? do you need permission or a friend to tell you to stop? and your calling me the kid. maybe when i get "older" ill make as much money as you lol.

yes, 350ish for the HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY not the BULB. enough of the childish arguing with the others, imo hid's are pointless. to finish on a good note, sad to hear the people who have these new headlights are having problems, but they are very good looking headlights. if they lined up fairly close which it looks to me like they do, then im sold. i have 6 months to decide which route im going or whether im even changing my headlights. i definitely think taillights should be the next thing that is released because the tyc's are a joke..

Ok, my comment was a bit uncalled for. I apologize, not to insinuate that you are a ricer. You actually have a very nice car. I am just saying that you are coming into this thread clowning people that are spending money on something they are interested in and care about doing in a quality fashion. That would be like me going into the FI forums and clowning your car saying the my 35$ turbonator gets just as much horsepower as the TRD SC. Ok maybe that's an extreme case. (BTW I don't actually have a turbonator). But let's face it, when it comes to headlights alot of people in this thread know abit more than you. So its fooloish to bash them for spending money. It is a proven fact that any coated bulb will produce less light. The coating is a filter that cancels all ight except for the light you are seeing, blue, white, whatever. The filiment on a halogen bulb is yellow. Any halogen that isn't stock color will have less lumens. You probably don't care but some people do. Yeah, my setup doesn't give me anymore horses, but I feel it adds a touch of class to my ride. I would like a faster car but to me it is insane to spend thousands and thousands on a turbo. But I wouldn't bash anyone who did because if I had that kind of money sitting around I definately would boost my ride. Hopefully you see my point. When I said your out of your eliment, I only ment that the statements you were making with such conviction, might need a bit more knowledge to back them up.

im not bashing anyone who has spent the money on hid's, i just dont understand the point. my bash was on the people who said that guys new headlights were straight up ugly and a waste of money. ive been in the custom world for a while, this being my 3rd custom car, and my first speedy car. some people think im crazy, i didnt buy my turbo for speed, i didnt buy it to race. i paid 3300 for a damn blow off valve. i think its fun now that i got to learn more about cars by buying and installing the kit, but thats all i wanted. but im not the one to go out and pay 50 bucks for a simulated bov, i wanted the real thing. plus ive never owned a turbo'd car. but comparing priced of hid's and a headlamp assembly, your paying 300 bucks for bulbs, or for the whole assembly. like i said, jsut my opinion. but i dont like people who are crappin on others stuff.

as far as my statements, ive already admitted im not one for projectors what their made of or what hid's are made of or do or quality. i only know that projectors focus the light and hid's are retarded bright. thats the extent of my knowledge, and im not interested in learning more. im not into having extremely bright headlights, they dont serve a purpose for me.

and thankyou for the explaination on the tinted halogen bulbs bigrktc

i doubt your 2 year old halogen bulbs will even match the performance of HIDs
it probably has to be high wattage bulbs which would definitly have a short lifespand and a high possiblity of frying wires!!!

i think i had enough for the night... it's great to read about people opinions, gonna get ready work
i definitely agree, my 30 dollar bulbs wont match the output of a 300 dollar set of bulbs. also keep in mind though different colored light shines for different distances. so when you change your stock bulbs with tinted bulbs, you might have less lumens, but visibility is improved overall.. for example, a normal white bulb is visible for 6 miles, and a red bulb is visible for 3 , the heavier the tint, obviously its not gonna shine as far. the bulbs on my vehicle are not high watter bulbs nor do they pose a threat of damaging wires on my vehicles. if i didnt melt the wires on the s-10 i highly doubt i will melt them on my tc.
