just depends on where you want to mount the ballasts, no you don't have to, but you do want to make sure they are in a safe protected place.

I think if you remove the bumper it's easier to hide the ballasts. At least thats what I have read.

I didn't remove the bumper for mine and didn't really see the need to. There are lots of places in the engine bay to mount the ballasts. If you want a really stealthy install then I suppose mounting them somewhere behind the bumper would be a good idea, but if you aren't building a show car then I'd just mount them in the engine bay.

No need to take off bumper -- batttery maybe.

The left one is in the fwnder behind the washer fluid. The right one is behind the fuse box.
If ur stock air box is in the way (cant remember exactly where it goes) just mount it where I have that fuse holder in the pic. Hope that helps.

I may have some pictures of the mounting on my external I'll check when I get back tonight. But just to let you know where I mounted them I ziptied one to the washer fluid container and ziptied the other to a random hole I found in the metal on the passenger side.

I was going to find some more secure places but my lights warmed up a bit too much (http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2418384/1 <---Old cardomain site ) and turned purple on me. So I gave them to my sister to put on her AP tC.
