Hmm...when it hit the ground, it could of caught a break in the cement which would easily rip it off...

Thats what I am thinking happened. I went back to the scene and you can clearly see where it scraped on the ground for about 10 feet up to where it finally broke off the car. The road starts going up hill around that area, so I think maybe it caught somewhere.

Ikona sent me an email saying he might be able to fix it.

4 cars ran over your lip...I think you should get a new one.
Best of luck with getting it all settled.

That is why I drilled a hole into my lip and bumper, jacked up the car, open the bottom side covering and put 2 bolts and nuts on the lip and bumper to hold it down.

Bondo is a material used to resurface damage areas after the damage areas are put back together or repaired somewhat to shape. Bondon doesn't adhere well to Polyurethane or other plastic materials. If you wanted to repair it yourself Id use plastic repair putty. iIts not easy though.

Bondo + Polyurethane = Epic Fail, its just going to crack.

Definitely shop error, the tape used by FIVEaxis is OEM grade 3M tape; I've hit tire tread on the freeway going 85 with the lip w/o it coming off, so I know that shizz is strong; what probably happened was the kit was fitted improperly, resulting in minimum contact and adhesion. Goodluck with picking up a new one, and I'd suggest you install it yourself this time =]

It's an installation error. When in stalling the lip kit, the areas the tape will be applied onto must be cleaned properly. Rubbing alcohol is the best bet. If there is still wax on the area the tape is applied, it will not hold and slips off easily.

two little tricks i have learned from working at the body shop, light swipe of acetone(VERY LIGHT) to clean the surface, then a nice little coat of "Titer-bond" (adhesive promoter) works really well.
