I have 6k and they are great. I don't see too much blue in them, but definitely a little.

You SHOULD definitely see the blue in 8k. I've read on some SL forums that people did get pulled over for them. I personally don't know of anyone who did though.

Anything over 8k should be approached with caution in my oppinion. Yeah it looks great, but your practically asking to get pulled over.

For example, today. i was going 2 college and i get inside the parking lot, and see one of my friends (he drives a tsx) stoped by a cop, i park next to him and asked him what happened, he got a ticket for his HIDs (8k), CAI, Exhaust, tints, and tinted taillights.

I had 10000k in my last car for over a year and never got pulled over.. Also had 15% tint all around and 5% in the back and I was never pulled over..

Over here in CT, atleast where I live.. haven't heard anyone getting pulled over for headlights..

I wish I could see 6000k and 8000k head-on from a far distance..

why would he even put 8k HIDs when he already has factory equiped HIDs?

Ditto for me. I have 8000K and they look pretty muich like the ones on the right.!! I love em. Never had a problem with cops or enraged passers by that think my high beams are on. There's even a civic that drives around my neck of the woods with 15000K, they are pink as hell and he doesn't get pulled over. I'd say go with what you like, not with what you think will get the least grief from cops

Don't get the 8,000k
most hid kit resellers out there show output pictures without knowing that the more the exposure, the more intense light will be thus making the impression the kits are superb.
Never go Past 6,000k or else u'll lose output severely.

"without knowing"?? It's a well known fact that any higher OR! lower than 5000K-6000K will lose light intensity, but DEFINITELY NOT "severely" until you get up to 12-15000K.

You're not saying anything new, most people get the color they like, not just the intense white 6000K kit. Even the "severley dim" 8000K lights are still 5 times brighter than any halogen bulb.

sorry bud, but thats false! a friend has the 8k in his tC and yes the "color" may look nice, but man i seriously now know i will not buy PnP kits. You honestly can see better with stock halogen bulbs. He has done the comparison between his 8k and halogen and it lights up the road alot better. He says he gotten some flashes already but cops down here are too stupid on what to look for. Im trying to convice him to go with a retro and can really turn some heads besides being a glaring maching. I guess you have to see it first hand on what i mean. Some people on here are just to hard headed and think eBay HIDs are the best thing that happened in this world.

Tell your friend to stop buying ebay garbage. Stock halogens brighter than HID's? Mine will blind you. They ARE way brighter than halogens and I had silverstars.

I take your criticism, but i am not talking about Ebay HID kits. I bought mine from Cliffud on here and all i can say is they are WAY!!! brighter than any halogens i've seen. I drove beside my cousins stock tC headlights in the middle of the night and i lit up my side of the road and his, and i aimed mine down a little to avoid people getting mad and no one has ever high beamed me.

Good they're aimed down and your concern about other drivers! At least you're not one of those ricers who purposely aim them up to "show off" their HIDs to the whole world.
But you're at a misconception. Blue is percieved better by your eyes than yellow. That's the reason behind the whole everyone wants blue HID's.
hid's don't matter much. high quality or low quality ballast will produce the same 35w which will power up the bulb. However, sadly enough, aftermarket bulbs never give you the facts of their bulbs but rather speculate trying to copy Philips, Osram and GE bulbs spec.
Why do you think looking head on, 8,000K will look brighter than your typical 4,100K setup? Your eyes love blue.
And in raining condition, water will suck up blue and white. That's the reason behind them sucking because it'd be like driving with no lights at all.
If you want the philips, osram and GE datasheet, PM me and I will give you true facts.

I can appreciaite a good debate, but i have had both halogens (Silverstars) and now these 8000Ks, and the difference is night and day in ALL conditions, wet or dry. I have seen first hand on my own car, and honestly you aren't gonna change my mind with datasheets.

now this is a night and day difference:
8,000K hid kit and yellow fogs:

85122+ Philips bulbs and s2k's:

Halogens get 1200 lumens and 8,000K are over-colorshifted bulbs with the rating of 1500-1800 but then again u get more lumens. However, blue washes away more rapidly than yellow. If you haven't noticed, that's why lexus uses yellow fogs.
