I'm still a little fuzzy on what you mean. Are you talking about how it's like a half circle on the bottom and then "cuts" in the middle so that the top half of the circle is black (with no light)?

pretty bad

it's pretty blurry and usually when u see someone driving and they hit a bump and u see this blueish/purpleish prism effect... that's the cut offline. My goal is to have a blueish cutoff line as well.

So let me explain this project im doing. How will i get the blueish cut off

first of all.. the reflective shield creates this prisim effect. The edge of the shield apparently is responsible for it. You can say the sharper the edge is... the better slicing of the light rays.

besides the thickness and sharpness.. the position affect it as well...

by pushing it closer or further away effects the cutoff.

oh yes, can't forget the distance of the lense! pretty popular mod since it's easy. By increasing the distance from the bulb and the projector, you will increase the size of the cutoff effect (maximus96 tsx washer mod ) yet sacraficing the sharpness.

okay enough said... time to prototype. got alot of plans for this week on this project!

currently, i tested out the cut out.. it's not exactly the same, i have a flat shield while the oem has a bit bending. I will have to increase the size where i will screw the shield back on, (length wise) and create 3 bends so i can push the shield closer to the bulb...

sorry no pics yet, it was late at night... tonite im a bit busy so maybe tomorow

and i hafta say, CAREFUL, the soda can is uber sharp! it is probably sharper than my sissors (maximus96 - i don't have kitchen shears lol, i used a regular sissor :T)

i think you can sand off the print on the outside. the dremel will come in handy for this.

it gets pretty toasty inside the projector, i'm not sure if painting the shield is such a good idea...

yeah figures... i seen a picture of a halogen projector foglight converted to HID foglight by applying distance in the projector and a reflective shield. he used a coke can with out sanding it!

i have emailed him but i never got a replied back

Okay! now the way a6's reflective shield is made with alot of curves, im having a bit of trouble making it out of a can, i might just get my dad to go take it to work to make it out of alluminum sheet metal (he's pro XD)
so here's the original:
http://dusers.drexel.edu/~asa/pics/a6cutoff1.JPG

n e way, i made two shields, first one sucked. Sanding the paint off the can causes it to bend :T it bend backwards towards the bulb where the cut off which gave this weird bad looking cut off:

So the okay here's the next one with out sanding off the paint, it wasn't distorted like the other one so it's pretty cool. btw i forgot to wash this one so it smelled like enery drink XD:

okay i applied a bit of pressure with my finger and quickly snapped the next picture which looks like this:

ALOT OF BLUE

okay so i will probably find a different way to make the reflective shield but i might just stick with the old ones.... i care less lol

that's not perfect.... that's OVERKILL XD

TSX projectors?

oh yeah, i should update this

my dad used sheet metal and he applied bends to my specifications, no step on the reflective shield at the moment; however, awsome cut off with blue/purple cut off!

no pictures at the moment because i did it before i went to work this morning. My dad probably read my comments and will take it back to work to fix it up and make the second reflective shield.

i will post pictures ASAP
