? about removing scratches from headlights
Can the clear plastic on the headlight be sanded and buffed like tail lights? I'm not looking to tint them, but I'm installing oznium angel eyes and fiberglass eyelids soon, and my passenger light doesn't look that great.
It has a yellow scratch ( I assume the previous owner scratched it somehow on something painted yellow, its thin enough that when you look at the car it doesn't draw attention, but if you are looking specifically at the light its rather noticeable.)
Its not deep at all, you can hardly feel it if you move your finger over it, but its just enough to want it gone, especially with the upcoming mods to my headlights, I don't want that distracting from them is someone is looking at them.
So I'm wondering what the best way to get rid of the line is, I was thinking being sanded and buffed like taillights being tinted, maybe paint thinner? not sure if it's actually paint or not. any other suggestions? should I just replace the entire thing?
I'll post pictures in a few, thanks in advance for any help

Thats perfect! thank you!
I hadn't considered headlight restoration, I thought they were all the bottle of liquid like you'd see in the car cleaning section of autozone, didn't any good ones like that existed.

those liquid bottles your talking about are no good. you have to physically remove whatever is on top of the headlight of try to even out everything. i had tried some of those plastic scratch remover before and it didnt work at all. this 3m is what you need.
Oh the 3M is definitely what I'm going with, I was just saying my impression of headlight restoration kits was very negative due to me only seeing the bottles of liquid that I assumed wouldn't do much. Judging by the comments on the youtube video you can get this for ~$20 at autozone? if so that's great, a lot less than a new light.
Napa and advance so far, theres still another napa, an o'reilly, and 3 more advance/autozone(can't really remember whats what, they look the same), 3M's site says Autozone and Napa, I'm in the process of calling them all up atm

Found it at an Autozone, I'll post pics in a little bit, gonna wait an hour or so to start, my camera is in CA with my parents and my GF has hers, so I'm waiting for her to get home so I'll have a camera to use.
Still waiting on UPS as well.. they're awful. I don't think I've ever gotten a UPS package before 4 pm, usually comes between 5 and 7 though.

UPS finally came at 4, started installing my TBL about 20 minutes ago, just finished
I need to run get masking tape and a spray bottle from wal-mart before I start, I figured those were things I would have lying around the house, but of course, when I need them, they aren't here.
by the way, my eyes from oznium came with 4 each instead of 3, no complaints, just a little confused
