you can mod the grill to fit fog lights OR you can go the figure fig grills ebay store and order your own custom grill already made to work with oem fog lights!

Im trying to do some research on the TRD springs from TRDsparks.com, so if someone could inform me about how the ride difference is based on your experience and maybe post a pic of the side so I can see the clearance I'd appreciate it.

PS. I know this is suspension based and should be on the suspension and handling forum but I dont want to create another topic so just bear with me.

Thanks

i have full trd suspension. they ride just fine, the drop doesn't sound like much, but trust me, it is extremely noticible.

the car handles much better, bumps bumps aren't so bad either, they get worse, but they are still livable. the drop also isn't severe enough that you have to compulsively worry about botteming out over every dip and steep approach and departure.

just make sure to get get the springs AND the struts. the stock shocks will eventually blow out, and with the lack of dampening, they will make your ride really sloppy. save up and do it all right and at once.

Could go with a shorter antenna, projector head lights, fog lights, tint, lowering, under body L.E.D's...none of those are too expensive..antenna would probally be 40ish max, projectors, 250-300 depending where you buy them, fogs VRD's you can get for 250 on ebay, tint is 200ish, lowering is umm like 150 for springs like 100 at local shop? (may be wrong on this one) underbodys you can get a great kit for around 150. I basicly plan to do all these small mods at some point so jsut throwing these out to see if you like any of them.

Wow, TRD sparks has struts and springs for $599.00! If I wanted to spend that kinda money, I'd just make a noticeable difference and get aftermarket rims. Dont get me wrong, TRDsparks is cool but thats kinda high for springs and struts My windows are already tinted by the way. Today I took off my SCION window sticker but I'm gonna put on my chrome TRD sticker that FINALLY came in. What rims would you guys pick for my car? include link. Try to find prices under or around $130 each.

Thanks!

meh, i'd take my springs and shocks over any cosmetic upgrade anyday. i'd rather make my car more fun to drive than to look at. but save up and get the springs, shocks and sway bars and don't forget installation unless you know how to do all that yourself.

and remember the motto of tuning cars, gotta pay to play!

(draxcaliber), Is there any websites other than ebay that you can provide for me about those chrome turn signal bulbs, I'm not much of an ebay shopper.

Thanks, keep bringin the ideas
Go to Cardomain.com then go to their store..get the Pilot Brand Chrome Amber turn bulbs...thats where I got mine!!
Which bulb did you choose (#) How are they lasting, the comments that were posted on a few of those turn signal bulbs didn't impress me to much. :?

i just picked up a cheep set off ebay, lasted me well over a year now, work just fine. as for wheels, well, i am still rolling on my stockies. my only advice is don't just buy for looks alone, wheels are a huge part in your cars performance. wheels and brake rotors are the cars unsprung weight. unsprung weight is weight that is not being controlled by your cars suspension, so you want to do what you can to minimalize it.

big brake rotors and big heavy wheels reduce whp, it slows down your acceleration, and increases your stopping distance and worsens handling because of the huge increase in your wheels rotational mass.

also taller wheel and tire combos change will mess up your speedometer and odometer. so your speed and mileage will be wrong unless you get them re-calibrated.

when i do my tires, i'm going to try and stay stock diameter, light weight wheels, wider tires with an ofset to improve the cars grip for acceleration, stopping and cornering.

i've been hearing good things about edge racing, so maybe you should take a look at their site.

http://www.edgeracing.com/ i have no personal experience with them, but other users have reccommended them before me.

^Same bout the rims here. Whenever I do get rims I'm stayin at 17x7.5 and gettin lightweight rims with toyo proxes 4 tires. Brembo makes a nice big brake kit kinda pricey tough. Get a set of Tein lowering springs an correct me if I'm wrong but they have shocks right? Go here an tell him that Thomas sent you an he'll hook you up with what you need for a great price. www.theatlbodykitstore.com

yes, i've heard good thing about the toyo proxes 4, both from people on scionlife.com and tire experts i've spoken to. but you don't need expensive tires for better grip than the oem protenza which are actually rediculously expensive. i've had $118 pirelli pzero nero M+S all season tires and now i have $81 kumho ecsta asx all season tires. both perform way better, and for the price the kumho's have impressed me.

a big brake kit is overkill for anycar that doesn't run several laps straight on a track. i have dezod motorsports brake package which consists of axxis ultimate pads and powerslot slotted rotors for both the front and back. you don't really need more than that for daily drivers that are driven enthusiastically, or even see time on an auto x course.

no, tein lowering springs don't come with their own shocks. you must have seen a picture of their coilovers. which are again much more than you need unless you must have adjustible dampening. also, you don't need to drop the tc that much to get better handling, either trd lowering springs, or tein h-techs, and at most hotchkis lowering springs, either set along with either trd struts of koni yellows from dezod.

hotchkis are pretty low, and tein s-techs are even lower and botteming out will become a real concern. and when you put lower springs on a car, struts with higher pressure are a must or else you will blow the shock fairly quickly.

I dont want lower the car that much but I want a more aggresive stance and feel. Would just a replacement of the stock springs for the TRD springs be ok?

yes and no, but really more on the no part. the stock shocks and struts will not have enough dampening while ridding on lowering springs. so your ride will supper and so will your handling instead of improving it. also because of the drop in height, your stock shocks will blow out not too far down the road depending on driving conditions. so just save up and it right and all at once.

there are alot of people who just get the lowering springs without upgrading the struts and some of them have blownout already. so if you can't afford struts and shock, wait, don't just lower your ride with springs.

I'm not wanting to go real low just low enuff so I don't scrap with a kit after I get it. Also I'm not wanting anything that has the words TRD on it (other than my exhaust, since they only look to see if you have an exhaust or not) because the shows around here consider TRD stock. Since it can be bought from the dealer its considered stock and that really hurts at shows when you spend alotta $$$ an still don't win lol. I seen a guy with the TRD brakes, lip kit, shift ****, petals, and other TRD stuff an didn't even get in the Top 5 Sport Compact Imports. I did since I had stuff on mine that wasn't TRD. But thanx for the info on the springs I may pick up a set of Hotchkis springs with Koni Yellows from Dezod.

well, you could tell a small lie and possibly get away with it. since trd doesn't really MAKE anything, they just rebadge it, you can just say "this is a vortech supercharger, with a obx shift ****, stop tech brakes, aem cold air intake., etc"

also, i'm not out to win any shows, just be a general menace to society with my breakneck speeds.

^ True but why pay that much for barely any gains in whp an torque? Pay less an get a Turbonetics Stage I turbo an get probly twice that from the SC. But that would be smooth debadgin the TRD an rebadgin like Honda owners do lol.
