Default anyone else have a problem with their hood

latch?

i went to pop my hood last night and the ____ just snapped. Now my hood wont open at all.

I assume something like this would be covered under warranty since I only have 8000 miles on my car??
The thing always felt kinda flimsy to me, anyone else have this problem?

and any idea how long something like that takes to fix. I wanna know if i should set up a rental with toyota

It should be covered bec. it's not a wear item. Although that's the first time I've heard of that happening. It should be a short 1/2-day repair. gl!

are you saying that the actual latch snapped, or the lever under the dash?

mine did that one time. theres a little spring that holds the hood latch open unless its locked down. it popped off on mine. all i had to do was unbolt the latch body from the front of the frame and pop the spring back on. you have to take your grill off to do it though. its actually really easy once you look at it.
