And this is why I have never,never purchased a car the first year of productiuon. Not all the kinks have been worked out of them yet.

And to claim that it is a lemon it has to spend more time in the shop than on the road.

BOOOOOOOO!! I thought this thread was about hot chicks in the rain/snow stripping!!
My reactions were; -> ->

Anyways, there was a post somewhere about this. Someone stated that you shouldn't drive over 55 mph with the roof open. (I always close it before I go on the freeway. Its too noisy open at that 'comfortable' speed of 80 mph .) When I go through the car wash and I'm at the end when all that air blows on the car to dry it the stripping comes up. I just push it back into place. I doubt you can call your tC a "lemon". Some of us have the same (not all of) problems as you. Hopefully you can get the stripping fixed. Good luck.

My brakes make a horrid noise whenever its been parked for awhile. I usually get to school Sunday and I dont drive home til Friday. They sound horrible, and Im a bit concerned also. My last car never did this. Gonna ask dealership to check it out.

My gut feeling is that some tC owners are borderline paranoid.
Seriously folks, these are cars, not Swiss watches - they make noise, drip, and do other things.
Brake rotors can rust when sitting, pieces can get loose or fly off at 80MPH.

I just can't believe that my tC is the only great one SCION made...

lol I wash my car and the rotors get wet right?
The next day they are all orange. I believe its rust.
It doesn't go away until I actually use the brake to get the layer of "rust" (if it is rust) off.
Happens to my friends 8 too.

I had that same thing happen to the brakes on my jeep(locking up), it seemed to do it more after it had been sitting in the rain and then the first few times i used them, then it would usually go away, but one time on the highway i had to stop quickly and i pressed them hard, not slammed them, but hard enough to slow quickly and they locked completely and i almost lost control. After that i decided i wasn't going to continue using my offroader as a commuter to work, so i got a tC, no problems so far, but its only been a few weeks

just be warned everyone that if the piece of weather stripping goes bad on the front of your car, your dealership will 95% chance replace the front windshield also!!!

I would trade/sell my car if i could but I rolled 2k over on to it, so it is a loss either way...
