Default base color of tc?

This is pretty random but I need some information that I haven't been able to find. Well I accidentally got a scratch on the hood of my white tc the scratch was made from something that was plastic black and the mark on my car is now black. I'm trying to decide how deep the scratch is in order to know how to fix it and not sure if it's black because it went all the way thru the paint to the base, or if thats just color that the object left behind. Does anyone know what the base color is?

if it's the bumper.. then yes.. it's black... if it's the door or fender.. well.. that's metal.

its on the hood of the car...that's why i'm trying to see if it's so deep that I need paint to fix it or if the black is just from the black coming off what scraped it

would be metal since its the hood. if you drag your nail (slowly and gently to not scratch anywhere else) and if it gets snagged on the scratch then its deep to the point of repainting, but if its not then it can usually be buffed out

yea I'm pretty sure it isn't TOO deep but also wasn't sure how to really "buff it out" since the mark is a different color from my car....don't know if it's something I have to try to clean off...then buff...or if its black cuz the scratch is too deep. I guess I'll just have to figure it out somehow

well try rubbing it off with your finger and some rubbing alcohol, not much. maybe it won't need painting.

don't use rubbing alcohol....

if the scratch is too deep... it'd be metal.. not black.

it's probably a hard scuff mark (from the thing that hit your hood).. and not what's under the paint.... you'd wanna try to clay bar it off... a good polishing compound would make it go away too.
