Default Can u use ANY spraypaint for tails?

I always see everyone use VHT Nightshades or whatever its called. But is there any spray at Lowes/Home Depot to tint tails?

Thanx.

You need a paint that is translucent. I used lens paint on my TYC Tails. Came out very good! "Google" 'vans lens paint' for different colored translucent paint.

Lowes or Home Depot will not carry anything like that. Your best bet if you do not want to purchase VHT from online would be to try a Hobby Store and buy black translucent paint. I don't know the quality of those, but I'd stick with VHT Niteshades. Or take it to a body shop and have them do it for $75

Sure you can use 'regular' spray paint, it just won't be transparent. I've thought about using non-transparent paint on parts of the taillights. You would have to mask off the brake, turn signal, and reverse light areas of course.

I use that VHT nightshades ur talking about and they work really good. Like the other guys said it's transparent so when u have ur lights on or hit the brakes people behind you will be able to see it. What you are looking at is 4 layers. As you can see I masked off the reverse lights with regular painters tape.

These are my Civic lights and I have never been pulled over for them. I got a speeding ticket recently but the cop didn't say a word about anything else.

That's what they look like on the car. They're not as dark in person.
