Default CF tC Moonroof Wind Deflectors, anyone?

I am currently working with a custom CF fabricator to have a CF Wind Deflector made for my tC since I noticed that my OEM glass one had some chips and pits which got me worried about it shattering like what's going on in this thread.

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=82995

They are considering mass producing these if the demand is out there.

If anyone is interested, let me know and I will get you in touch with them.

They can pretty much custom fabricate anything, so if you have any suggestions, feel free to chime in and I'll pass it along.

Price is 150 +(tax if applicable)+ shipping

which isn't bad at all since I'm paying 150 + tax + labor since I'm pretty freaking clumsy and worried that I'll just break something lol

Awesome freaking idea... can't believe that I forgot to ask them about it since I've been looking for a billet or cf fuel door forever

I'll suggest it to them. Mind you, the price of 150 is just a ballpark since I'm not the vendor... it's just what I paid to have them custom fab it for me

Right now I'm just tossing this out to whoever's interested, since I'm already in touch with these guys and they're already interested in making them, as opposed to you guys going out and looking for some custom work on your own.

im interested but i would like to see the quality of the CF. Raplacing the Sliding glass with CF would be pretty cool too. I always use the venting mode for the roof but i dont slide the cover because it lets the sun through. A CF one would solve that.

I would be into the wind deflector. About those mirrors.....the stocl cover pops right off right, what about just that cover and not the whole housing. I would be into that! I think it would look sweet.

that kind of defeats the purpose of a moon roof...its like the sun roofs back in the day.

If you're going for the whole CF hood, Roof and Trunk look though, it would score major points at shows

Kevlar IIRC, but I'll double check, since I want to make sure for myself too

From what I can tell, the glass is just attached with Double-sided moulding tape onto the metal fram, the metal frame is then simply attached to the roof with Torx screws

So this new CF piece would be attached the the metal frame with 'tape' ??

Or would they supply it with the little metal frame already attached to the CF.

A wind defelector is only as good as it's weakest joint.

The OEM glass is attached with double-sided molding Tape onto the metal frame
from the factory. As far as I could tell it will be attached the same way as OEM
but that could change as the piece is developed.

I'll PM you the shop's contact info so that they can provide more accurate info.
