Clear Bra! WooHoo!
Newbie here just wanted to show off my week old tC with a clear bra (looks like it doesn't even have it on, duh). Ordered the clear bra (3m) off ebay for $225. Deluxe kit, mirrors, front bumper, hood. I called to have it installed, but the first guy I called seemed put off by doing it (he was on 3m's site). $275 for the labor to put it on, and I would have to drive an hour to get there. The second person I called was $250, PLUS she came to your house to do it! I was sold. She also did both rocker panels with her own 3m film for $60. So any people in the Pittsburgh area looking to get a clear bra (she lazer makes them also) and to get them put on, Karen Baldauf of Impact Armor is your lady. Nice and does an excellent job. 3m certified. Regardless, I got it put on as soon as I could because I was not liking the prospect of getting a ____ load of rock chips on the front. I think it's a good investment. Anyway, here's the car.

Forgive my very very poor editing skills, but it goes up about a quarter of the way on the hood.

The store on ebay says it is up to 18" on the hood. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Scion...spagenameZWD1V

i really wish I had of done this when the car was new. It would have been so worth it. The scion isnt like all other cars I have owned. Most cars a rock chip, chips the clear coat, my tC it goes straight to the black underneath.
Looking good.
Looking good.
Thanx!
I used to have a 2003 Corolla S, white also. By the time I traded it in, I had 61000 miles on it and probably that amount of rock chips also. The winters around here are brutal, they still use ash and salt to melt the snow, that all gets thrown up into the bumpers and destroys the paint. I wanted to avoid all of those problems so I got it done asap.

looks good, been thinkin about doin the same thing, have the same tC and live in the same area. Where exactley are you at steve? How noticable is the line and does it clean/wax any diffrent than the paint? Also, can it ever be taken off without damaging the paint/clearcoat?
I'm actually in Uniontown too. Would you happen to park your car on Fayette Street by Mahoney's? There's always a white tC there.
The line on white is hardly noticalbe. If you are standing right next to it you can see it, but by about 5ft back it's not noticable at all. Now on darker colors (the woman that put it on had a navy Jetta and you could see the line from a mile away on hers) it is more noticable. If you want you can stop by and check it out if you're in town.
I took it for a ride up the mountains today and got all kinds of bug guts all over the front (yummy!) and went home took an armorall car wash wipe and it wiped right off. The woman said wash and wax it as if there was nothing there. She put a clear coat on the film itself. And it can be taken off without any harm to the paint or clearcoat. But then again, why would you take it off? Once it's off you can not use it again.
