clear the cf hood?
IN sunny areas it is a must.......I have not done my Kami hood yet.......a good polish and wax pruct that has UV protection in it wil also help ........but recomend gettign it cleared with a UV protector and then the UV wax.
Ive had VIS hoods from my GT-S to my TC and never had any issues with fading, chiping, yellowing, etc, just wash your car and wax it...aka take care of your ish... and you will be fine
my VIS hood faded super quick. i live in super sunny southern california. I park it under the sun at work (40 hours a week), but garage it at night. The fading and cracking on my hood occurred primarily in the center. Perhaps the underhood insulation might have minimized heat damage (I never used the insulation with my cf hood). I wash and wax the car about every 2 months (i'm lazy).
Pics from a year ago (got much worse later):
Check out the fade. Thats a crack in the resin (near the nozzle hole). You can see how shiny it was where the stickers used to be.

Taken on a cloudy day. You can see where its fading.

Rather than paying to fix it or buy another cf hood, I tried something different.

On my previous cars I had the cf hood clear coated and it never faded. My very first VIS hood (8 years go) faded and turned yellow like no other. Their quality has improved from those days.

Here's a photo after applying the stuff for 45 minutes by hand. I wasnt impressed. People who used a buffer got better results.
