i haven't cleared mine. No need to honestly, even though i park the tC in the hot phoenix sun for 8 hours/day.

the trick is to just take care of your CF parts. i wax my hood, hatch, and mirrors on a weekly basis.

Motor FX.

The hood was exposed to UV Index 9+ sunlight for atleast 10 hours a day, 5 days a week.

i originally had a motor fx hood, but i got rid of it because of the crappy loose weave and the fit was terrible. 2 years ago i bought the VIS hood used because the weave was tighter and it fit much better. the hood has been in use since early 2005 (its one of the first CF hood VIS made for the tC), so its seen alot of sun.

My MotorFX hood crapped out on me after about two years. Same fading/clouding that you see in HKSpeed's pics.

It wasn't waxed weekly, but it was by no means neglected.

You can repair cf parts but they won't look like cf anymore.

if you guys dont want to deal with polishing and clear coat it or even if you have a cf hood in a perfectly good shape you guys could get it wrapped with 3M glossy overlaminate

find a graphics company who wraps cars... tell them you want to wrap the hood with clear overlaminate.

tell them you want extra glossy look.

calendared glossy isn that good, and the best looking overlam is the 3m glossy overlam

the 54 inch wide is just fits on our hood.. i would do that.

if they put it on wet it would look great
i know that all the grafx what we do with these 3m vinyl and overlam they look awesome.
i would do it to my car too but i got kaminari and the hood is vented..

^^You could wrap the Kami (or any other vented hood), it'll just take more work.

a shop just decided to polish my kaminari hood... the only problem that the kaminari hood has some black stripe all around and on the vented area. and this black stripe just faded out to grayish because they polished it... ((( i think im gonna ask them to re clear the entire hood.
