covering a wet car, an introduction and a complaint
Is it alright to put the car cover (oem) on a wet car? The instructions that came with the cover don't cover this topic. On a side note, this is my first post here, and the '07 FM Tc is my first new car. I've been driving a '94 Tercel with a 4sp manual tranny, and the upgrade is very apparent; I no longer hold up traffic at every light. I'm very satisfied with everything on the car, but the quality of the paint. 226 miles, 3 scratches. Two scratches, on the hood, caused by the same falling acorn struck at 40mph, and the other coming from a pebble flying off of a passing truck. I drove the Tercel on the same route for over a year, under much worse conditions, without a single scratch... but oh well. I'm not naive enough to think a perfect paint job can be preserved long in Pennsylvania, but I hope I don't keep accumulating scratches at this rate. Last thing, for now, I think I may be setting a record on gas mileage for a Tc, as I still have slightly more than half a tank left with 226 miles (half highway, half town), but I'm guessing the bottom half goes faster than the top.
Anyhow, thanks in advance for the correct answer to my question.

I have the OEM car cover. I'm not sure that it would cause any harm putting it on a wet car. I wouldn't do it personally, but I only say that because I wouldn't want to have a cover that's wet on the inside to protect my car. (Just doesn't seem like the cleanly thing to do if you are trying to protect your car). Have a great weekend man. Is the cover truly waterproof? Anyone know? Will it protect the ride from the rain?
