Default Custom Carbon Fiber Work

Has anybody had custom CF work done or done some themselves?

I know about all the normal stuff you can buy, hood, engine cover, dash kit .. yadda yadda

I am thinking more along the lines of... a carbon fiber lip for our tail where the exhaust exits.... kind of like a heat guard. I have seen a picture of a completed one, however the owner mentioned that they had it done custom.

I know you can buy... REAL... carbon fiber sheets on ebay. Just wondering if anybody has done any of their own work?

You really cannot use Carbon fiber that you would buy to work with.........first it needs an Autoclave to press it under vacume along with heat to make it work.........most carbon fiber parts are the fiber stretched over fiberglass and then coated in resin .........and painted with clear coat...........they are durable and strong, but not as strong as a real CF piece.............an 3/16 inch thick piece or real CF will hold up to the pressure of a 777 lifting off........I know I built the Horizontal stabilizers on them all...............that is the flap that makes them go up.........CF is tough stuff..........

custom CF can get really expensive mainly because companies like boeing are buying up a LOT of CF for their planes. I would recommend looking into parts that are made... what I can think of is:

Door Panel Inserts Front and Rear (Top Shop Carbon)
Headliner (Top Shop Carbon)
Rear Hatch Garnish (Fibercation.com)
Gauge Bezel (Firmware (now dead) so eBay)
Armrest (Firmware (now dead) so eBay)
Heatshield (eBay)
OEM Lip Kit (bBist.com)
Widebody Kit (AIT)
Pillar and Pillar Pod (carbontrix.com)
Cubby Hole Plate (Garage1217)
Dash Stereo Plate (Garage 1217)
Hood (so many places)
Hatch(so many places)

thats all i got right now...

We do custom CF all the time. My fiberglass enclosure is being wrapped in CF as we speak. The interior all my bosses Celica is all done completely in CF
