DAMMMM SEMI-TRUCKS!!!!
So im driving on a two lane road the other day, and a semi blows past me going the opposite way and as it was passing me a rock went dead smack into my windshield making a nasty circular crack about the size of a golf ball.... so my insurance is replacing my windshield for free with no deductible, and i talked to the guys at the auto-glass company and they use Pilkington auto glass..... ive never heard of that brand? is it good, reliable, and for those who have had windshields replaced have u had any trouble at all with water or air leaks, im worried.....
i'd rather they replace with with oem toyota laminated glass windshield. i don't now how much of a reputation you can find on auto glass companies, but i'd just rather stick with stuff manufactuered to toyota's specifications than some after-market unknown company.

yeah i feel the same way.... i looked up pilkington on google and they seem to be a pretty big auto glass manufacturer..... and my insurance co. (allstate) chose the company to replace the glass, so what should i do
Make sure they use OEM parts at the shop. If they dont, tell them you either want the OEM part for a higher cost (b/c insurance covers it), or tell them you will take it elsewhere where they DO use oem parts.
I had mine replaced last summer, but I was able to choose the shop. OEM was more than aftermarket, but cost only $50 to replace. I've heard horror stories from aftermarket glass. I'd suggest OEM.
