Default Driver Side Mirror Vibration on 06 tC's

I searched but found nothing on this issue....

Does anyone else have a problem with the mirror glass vibrating in the driver's side mirror when driving? It appears to be road vibration and wind causing it on my tC. I had a 02 Tacoma Prerunner that had the same issue. The passenger side mirror glass is rock solid on the tC. It is like the attachments (wires, whatever) that move the mirror are loose and allow the mirror to vibrate slightly, causing slightly blurred images in the mirror. It is NOT due to the stereo, it occurs with the stereo off, and is more exxagerated when listening to bass intensive music.

Wondering if there is a fix? The dealership will replace the entire mirror housing and glass as one unit, and this will probably not solve the issue. It did not on my Tacoma.
Any knowledge of this issue or fixes will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Try riding a motorcycle.

It is almost impossible to have your mirrors perfect while driving. There will always be bumpy roads, wind buffeting, and who knows what else trying to blur your mirrors. You probably just notice it on the driver's side because it is closer to you.

Thanks alot for the flame, and other useless commentary.

I have not noticed this issue on my Honda Civic, nor my company car, (Ford Taurus). Otherwise I would not have brought it up. I have owned three toyotas, and all three exhibited this condition. I am wondering if anyone could reply with a fix for this issue that I can complete myself. The dealership option will not work, I know this for a fact.

As to your attempt at humor about riding a motorcycle, street bikes' mirrors vibrate wildly. If you have nothing useful to add to this discussion.......

Regards,

Regards,
Wow, somebody must have some sand in their.....nevermind. I don't see why you say I was flaming you, I was just trying to diagnose the problem. Also, this board is filled with humor, we are a funny bunch. Anyway, I wasn't trying to be funny with the bike comment. I was illustrating the fact that the combination of road and engine vibration cause the mirrors to vibrate A LOT. I would be willing to bet way more than your car's mirrors. But I got used to it and learned to use my other mirror and check my blind spots well when driving. If this is how you are going to be when someone tries to offer you help, maybe you should head over to the civic forums and talk about your schweet exhausts, wings, and mismatched rims and body kits since you seem to be a steriotypical civic punk.

Regards,

The civic is my wife's 4-door sedan, all stock, by the way. In eye-catching LX trim. (my own sarcasm there). Why didn't you blast me about the Taurus? I could cruise on over to the ford boards where they talk about what a great car that P.O.S. is. Maybe the ford boys and girls can help me out.

I did take your original post as a flame, from your opening comment about the bike.

Anyway, sorry I mistook your humor for a flame, I might have taken it differently had you said, "try ------, or it could be ------". something other than the obvious. It just came off smart-assed to me, but I'll take you at your word that you were trying to help, and bury the hatchet. No harm done.

However, I am still looking for some type of easy fix for this issue. I can live with it, but would prefer not to. Definetely don't want to take the car to the shop for this issue, as it will not be fixed by replacing the mirror housing assembly, which is their solution. Maybe nothing can be done.... if not, oh well. Hopefully someone has developed a fix for their mirror vibration.

Have a good day,

Yeah, I think a little over-sensitive there...

My mirror vibrates when my music is loud, but otherwise, not really.

My Honda motorcycle's mirrors are really good. Most are not. The comment was not out of line, and I think you need to lurk and get the culture before jumping on someone...

Thanks for the assistance jay_jay.

As for the other two guys, I guess you didn't see my reply where I appologized for mistaking his humor for a flame. Admittedly, I over-reacted a bit to his initial comments.

I'll try to figure it out on my own DouBLeJ16. It'd be nice if you'd share your solution though. I'm sure there are others who'd like to know what you did to fix the issue.

Thanks
