So when I got back from New Years, someone had smashed my driver side mirror. The electric still works fine; just the glass is broken. The dealership wants over $200 for it since they say just the mirror isn't available. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this cheaply?

Try going to a body shop and see how much they would get it to you for. remember you might still have to get it painted. Generally mirrors come in a primer color and then get painted at a shop.

 

The dealer is correct. The mirror is sold as a complete assemby and comes prepainted.

 

Damn that sucks......Best bet is go with the ones with the markers you can get a pair for 275.00

NewScionParts.com (aka: Carson Toyota) sells the side mirror glass. They are upgrade parts for the bB. The glass has a nice blue tint. You'll need to modify the black plastic piece in order to get it to fit, but it will work. Looks really good too!

You may also want to check to see if anyone on the board has purchased the new APR carbon fiber mirrors. I dont even know if they are available yet, but when i spoke to my buddy who works there, a month ago, they were just about done.

 

the light mirror covers is just a covers that stick to the outside of the factory mirror no replacement for the whole assembly when I first got it I thought it was big rip off but since it is a Toyota of Japan product and all parts from the factory are all usually very expensive

 

i have the mirror covers in stock.
i have thunder cloud, white and black in stock.
they haev like 10 leds i believe in the marker.
and it taps into the sidemarker light.
it takes mins to install.
i believe the price is 250 for a pair plus shipping.
and like i mentioned in the other thread.i have the ANTI GLARE/FOG
lense(blue like benz/bmw) for 110 + shipping.
just let me know if u need something. i'll try to make it
easy on u for price.

 

FWIW,
Glass shops can't get the mirror glass yet. I didn't want to pay the $235 for the new mirror from the dealer so I decided to go the route of bB upgrade glass with blue tint from Carson.
