im looking for something to make my car stand out a little nothing crazy expensive im a college student. maybe a lip kit.. any suggestions on make? or anything else i might want to look in to?

 

lip kits are very expensive. It would be cheaper to get a set of VRD grilles or some nice lowering springs. Either of those would make your ride look a lot better. I recommend doing the drop first :-)

 

just looked at your profile, I see your already dropped so nvm on that lol. Maybe smoke out your tails? thats pretty cheap...

 

buy new rims.

how expensive is a good lip kit? i honestly haven't even looked in to it.

and i was thinking of rims but i usually don't like rims. i had seen a pair of rims that looked kind of like the bbs rims that come on wolsburg(spelling?) jetta's but gold i wouldn't know the brand.

 

VRD grill (painted flat black) & debadged the "tC" did it for me. im pleased with it and didnt want too much but looks very clean now!

You can go the 'inexpensive' route and get;

WeatherTech Visors ($55 tinted)
Hella Twin Supertone Horn ($60) [Not really exterior ;) ]
HeadlightArmor.com Headlight Protection Kit ($60) [I prefer the HID Blue]
PIAA or similar Chrome/Orange Turn Signal Bulbs (Prices vary. Also 'cleans up' the headlights)

I'm sure there's other tasteful things out there that aren't expensive for the exterior.

 

im a college student and I work hard to put stuff on my car...i go to school full time (10am-6pm)
and I work part time (9pm-2am). Just work part time and you can put anything on your car if you save money. Just eat ramen and bread everyday and dont eat out lol. Thats what I do.

try this thread to get a good start on ideas for lip kits.

Mostly OEM and RS1 kits in that thread though.

The 5axis front lip is pretty clean to.

 

full third brake light

underbody lights (if you're into that)

lip kit (personally i have the oem front and rs1 sides and rear)

eyelids
tints
carbon hood
lip spoiler?
