Default factory tail

i bought my 08tc last april bone stock. ive since added an alarm/remote start, 8" navi/sirius/DVD player.

i love my car but i think a nice tail would give it that meaner look. i have the silver 08 and just looking for the factory tail on other factory tc's.

my question is, am i better off buying it online a facotry matched and go to a body shop and let them do it, or have the dealer do it and pay their price?

So basically what you're asking is what is the best way to go about buying 05-07 tail lights?

Buy them from the PPC section... they are usually around for anywhere inbetween $60 to $75 for the pair, shipping included in most cases.

Then just install them yourself. If you're unsure how to do that, search in the forums for DIY's on removing tail lights. You will find pics and/or detailed descriptions of the process.

It's very easy, so please don't pay a shop to do it. I can take off and put on tails in 10 minutes, tops.

^^I believe he is talking about the pedestal spoiler. You can go to trdsparks.com they have them painted for 259 plus shipping. Or you can check the PPC section to see if anyone is selling on in your color.

my other tC is a CSM.... and I have the factory pedestal spoiler on it.... yeah looks good on the CSM tC.... most places can match factory colors....but if you buy one online either get one that is already that color...or just get it from Toyota.... matching and spraying that base plus clear... probably would be cheaper to pick it up from the dealer...and I hate using the "D" word (Dealer).... Plus the dealer will know exactly where to drill the holes for mounting correctly.

dude I just checked on their site...and a brand new painted CSM pedestal spoiler will only run you about 240 bucks.. thats less than half of regular dealer price.... just fyi.
hell you couldnt even get a primered one sprayed for that price. And I've worked through Ken (the main manager for their TRD store) for so many of my modds... they will treat you right and are great to work with.

Hi,

Have you purchased your Wing from TRD yet?? If so, how much is your local Scion dealer charge for installation? Cause I just bought a TC and I'm looking for Spoiler too.

Thanks!

You can always install it yourself. Shouldn't be too hard.

Just get this:
http://www.trdsparks.com/displaypart...7&parts_id=633

and use this:
http://www.trdsparks.com/install/PT47A-2105Pinst.pdf

Not sure if the spoilers already come with these, but if not, it would be a good idea:
http://www.trdsparks.com/displaypart...&parts_id=1070

I prefer the Viniati spoiler though.

i refuse to do anything bodywise myself. ill pay to get it installed just so i KNOW its perfect, and if i go back to my scion dealer (which is huge) im suree theyve done a ton so they can make it perfect.

if i do it id get nervous and ____ up.

anything under the hood, ill do myself with the help of my buddy, but anything with the body, forget it

A lot of dealerships contract out the work, if they don't have their own auto body shop. I'd check other auto body shops for their price estimates.

i have the pedestal spoiler and i regret not getting the lip spoiler. they get in the way of my rear view and it rattles when i turn the music up or if i go over bumps.

or consider other options like kaminari spoilers (kaminari.com) or another clean, aftermarket spoiler. or get a carbon trunk with the lip spoiler already molded in.
