VDI and JT are, from everything I've tried, essentially the same design and function. They both pull out only so far and then up.... If you didn't know from asking, you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference... I couldn't when I tried both the VDI on the Jada toys car, and the JT on theirs....

Here's a pic comparison...

This is a pic of the VDI

This is the JTautostyle

These two cars have doors from JTautostyle.com, which I looked at and the hinges as well.... good doors IMHO. I'm contemplating them, as they are much better priced that the ridiculously overpriced VDI setups.

The owners of these cars are in my car club(in fact we have 3 tCs with these particular lambo kits, they got a really good price through one of our hook-ups($800, w/life time warranty, who knows if you call them, maybe they can give anybody a good deal), these doors are awsome I totally love them and I can't wait to have the cash to do them to my tC.
Sorry to change the topic but.Sponsorship...how does that work in fact?lolI've always wanted to be sponsored or wiht a group or something ya know...PM me on the details if anyone is up on that.thanks

It looks alright but you should now lower it and get new rims. The doors just dont look right on basically a stock tC. You need something else to make it stand out.

unvdistc----
Who do i contact at tru motorsports to purchase their kit? What does the kit come with?
Is it virtually identical to the vdi/jtautostyle kits? (i assume that there is only one way to do vertical doors...so all kits would be almost identical, however i could be wrong.. this is why i ask.) im really interested...

Jorge at trumotorsports is who helped me. The kit comes with the hinges, shocks, wire extenders, and new longer bolts. The kit has a lifetime warranty. As far as the other kits i don't know if they are the same. Here is a pic of mine during insatallation. I can give you more pics if needed.

That looks a bit different that the VDI or JT kits I've seen, but I can't put my finger on it... the part that really makes or breaks it for me is the location and setup of the "Stopper" on the hinge assembly...

Essentially the piece that stops the door from raising up until it is pulled out enough, and not allowing it to close, until the door is all the way down... avoiding all chances of the door frame hitting the car frame and causing damage... I know the VDI doors do that REALLY well, and the JT autostyle looked like they did it pretty good also (Wish I could play with them a bit more though)...

UNVDISTC.... from the pic, it looks like that piece is out a little bit from the hinge itself... can the edge of the door frame touch the edge of the car frame AT ANY POINT in the travel of the door along the hinge?

wedrivescions; I'm not sure what piece your are talking about.... but the door does not touch the car frame at all during travel. The door swings out then up. You set the motion with an allen wrench and it dertimines where it stops. After adjusting a couple of times it is easy to set it.

It's the little bump that I'm talking about... that locks in the travel of the door, so that it cannot contact the frame of the car at all...

But, it sounds like we're good to go with your setup in that regard.

I'm just worried about some idiot grabbing my door and moving it in a way to slam it and dent my frame or the door's frame.
