I got my VIS hood back in early 06 (one of the first ones VIS made for the tC). Not surprisingly it faded badly. I read about using a combo of 3M wax from Honda-Tech. So I put on the 3M restorer for oxidized surfaces.

Some improvement, but not much. I didnt bother applying the other bottle of 3M wax since it'll conceil the fading by making it shinier (like all wax), instead of actually removing it. I'll get it clear coated sometime.

nice tC.. i think that your CF hood needs to painted with clear coat like my bro did on his celica's CF hood... it will improve much better.

 

it looks good, about time i see the APR front air splitter with the GFX kit, yeah my vis hood faded and it looks bad but in the last 2 pics it looks the same to me and my clear coat cracked just like yours did but the car too clean.

I had the rear window spoiler custom made. Its the same as those M3/Audi style spoilers on ebay, but cut to the hatch length.

luckily the hood isnt turning yellow. its just fading like crazy. i think the clear coat is just fading away. once all the clear coat is gone, then the exposed resin will turn yellow from the sun.
I had the cf hood on my old GTI clear coated by at bodyship. 6 layers and it always shined so good.
