Default Fog light grille clips broken.....how to fix?

So coming back from good ol' six flags, a semi blows and as luck would have it, it bounced off of a car up and in the lane next to me and then hits me. It hit right on my fog light grille. The only clip that seems to be left is the bottom one on the drivers side. Toyota tells me I have to take it to a body shop. Is there a way that I can fix this or at least get it to stay fully in place temporarily until I can get it into the shop??

take your bumper off and try some automotive goop. u can find it at napa auto parts, kragen, autozone, etc. if that stuff doesn't hold try shooting a small screw thru the top of where the broken clip is into the foglight grill. that should definately hold it and it won't be visible unless u really search for it. hope this helps.

No luck.....the tabs broke off right at the bumper, so all that is left is a little nub.

nah, you don't need a new bumper cover, nearly the same thing happened to me. i rand over a box on the interstate that squeezed under my bumper and popped the grill out and broke all the tabs on the bumper. i took it to my local body shop and they pretty much glued it to the bumper. did a good job, didn't shake or rattler and nobody was the wiser. don't remember how much it cost, but wasn't much.

It looks like that's what I'm doing this weekend. I had my car in the shop last weekend to get a new wind deflector put on and they were supposed to look at this, but I guess they forgot, so I'm taking it back this weekend.

Drax - I saw in your sig that you are putting in vrds......how are you going to manage that without the stock clips?

Thanks for your help, guys.

i had to get rid of my oem foglights because you can't put a front mount intercooler behind them, so i had a set of vrd foglights installed. since my oem foglights and grills were glued in, i got a whole new front bumper from my local toyota dealership and had it painted and installed, and then put on figure fig llc grills. a new unpainted bumper only costs $229.16. so i got one, and put on the vrds, ang fig grills.

That's cool.....I got mine all nice and glued back in over the weekend. I like the VRDs and I was about to order them and a new grill, but I didn't want to get a new bumper too.
