Does anyone have any suggestions for % of tint on a black cherry tC? I swear I tried a search but didn't come up with anything concrete.

note: I live in CA and it's illegal to have the front windows tinted. I'd still like to get them tinted, but just nothing outrageous that would get me pulled over.

Anyways, I'm getting it tinted tomorrow morning and was just looking for any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Personally I hate the look of two different tints on any car so I went 25 all the way around. I've never even gotten a secound glance from a cop. But I live in the Central valley where it's 1000 degrees everyday in the summer so they kinda understand. I wouldn't go any darker than that on your fronts though.

 

thanks for the suggestions guys. Does the 5% in the back make it difficult to see at night?

 

My brother has his 5% all the way around on his tc and i can't see a damn thing at night out of any window. It's even a little hard for me to see out the back in my car but I'm getting a backup cam for my avic soon so it's no biggy. The great thing about 5% on your back is the bro trucks and semi's won't blind you to bad.

 

Unless he means the hatch (back) 5% and 35% all-around. With the darker hatch, your 35% tint will
appear darker. I have 20% on the hatch and 35% all-around and I really wish I would have done 5% on
the hatch. Agreed about about tinting the driver and passenger a different % than the quarter windows.
It doesn't flow right on a tC.

nice! Looks very good. I may go a bit lighter on the front windows to avoid unnecessary tickets but I will go 5% in the back and maybe 50% on the rest?

 

Here's another with 35% in direct sunlight...

It's not that dark at all. It just depends on how the light is. I drive by cops all the time
and never get hassled. Even in stingy L.A. Where they just love to give fix-it tickets.

 

I went 35% all the way around except for a 5in. visor strip and my moon roof in 5%. keeps the car pretty cool in 100 degree weather

 

15% blackety-black all the way..although in cali you prolly won't last more than a week. haha.

but the thing that ____ed me off the most is when i got it signed, the cop didnt go down and looked at my car.. he just said 'is that your car?' and signed it. i could have just left my tints and got it signed... i know it sucksss

I've got 20% and wish it was darker but wouldn't want to risk it with the popo around here, already got a tint ticket with 20% before...

 

ive had 5% all the way around for a year now, and ive never been bothered, and i got my tails tinted about 2 months ago.

ps- keep it the same % all the way around like some ppl said, makes it look so much better.
