Im blacking out my tail lights with VHT night shades soon.
Im getting new tails instead of using my 08s for when i resell. Just wondering if i buy some 05 stock tails and i totaly black them out are they still going to be see able from behind when i brake in the day time or should i just get some altezza leds and use them instead.

Im only doing a light smoke on my 3rd brake tail light so people will still be able to see me braking but i still want to be able to see the tails brake lights.

So basically would i be safe with 05 stock tails blacked out

depends on ur definition of Totally black... i had about 3 coats of VHT on mine and it was fine...but it wasn't totally blacked out IMO...

 

ya i just bought 05 tails and am doing the same thing with nightshade. just go as dark as you want. i would also invest in some led reverse bulbs unless you leaving that part clear.

 

i have the new o9's and mine are as dark as you can get them and i havent had any trouble you should be fine

 

Most (if not all) states require your brake lights to be seen between 300-500 feet. As long as you can see
them that far away, do them as dark as you want.

 

Yeah im leaving the reverse light out. I have a BSP so i want it to be black enough to match

 

i have a fm so ill be going a little lighter than you but ya i def agree with "blacking" out
