yes, they dont have a CARB exempt rating yet......
probably never will.

im really suprised he did not get you for the moddified exahust, but if it was not too loud (officers discression) then im suprised he even took the time to write the citation, i would have just given you a verbal, i only wrote tickets when it was more then one single offense, not worth the time.
but each officer is different......

So the AEM intake is illegal? That sux that you got a ticket! You'd probably be better off with the bracket.

so funny, but it's true! it's funny how he never mentioned my exhaust. only said he pulled me over because he noticed I didn't have a front licence plate. And I will check out the starbucks on gerber and power inn...need to get this ticket signed off.

you're also extremely lucky that he didn't pop your hood because that CAI is a big legal no-no and especially if u lie to them...you're very very lucky. Another thing...the HKS is far from illegal...it's decibal output is only 89dcb and the legal limit is i think 95 (between 92 and 95 at least)
Good job though on finding one of the few nice CHP's out there...it's a rarity
BuddhasTC had already mentioned it but I need another person's input on this. The HKS axle back exhaust is street legal right? The cops can't give you a ticket for it saying it's too loud right? Or is it illegal just like the intake?

I believe he was suggesting getting the ticket 'signed off'* AFTER the problem was fixed...and mentioned Starbucks 'cause it was a common place for cops to be in and out of...

Could be wrong, of course, happened before... :D

* "Signed off" not "written off." As in "signed that the repair has been completed."

don't worry tong. if u ever do get ticketed for the hks, supposedly its under the 95 decibal limit right? if so then if u do get ticketed, all they will do is refer u to the state referee station to get decibal tested (fix-it ticket). when u pass the test u will get a certificate to carry wif u and sho other cops that it is legal if u ever get pulled over again.

think about it, its summer time school is out, kids and are driving around, the police are just trying to manage the flood of kids. One reason you got pulled over is that you may have looked younger then you are.
I do know in fresno the CHP is on the look out for "young drivers" and are instructed to monitor there behavior.

I can't stand kid drivers, they are worse then old people sometimes, especially when they are driving around with there freinds, wanting to show off.
I dont fault the cops for doing there job, think about if they were not out there, sure some of the stuff they do is pretty petty, and i will agree with that. But I am happy to see cops pulling over bands of kids who speed and cut off people and dont have any regard for public saftey.
Just think, someday you may get Tboned, get stuck in your car and who is going to save you? I have been on both sides of the law in that aspect, and trust me both sides can suck, it sounds like that police officer was very generous with you, and FYI if he was a motor cop, he was not a rookie. Saftey in numbers, that is all it was.

so far NO exhaust is illegal for the TC (unless u get custom work like no cat or something) I had a jerk of a CHP one time when i got a speeding ticket and he actually tested my exhaust (HKS) and it passed with flying colors which infuriated the cop even more...oh well

ok it's good to know that my HKS exhaust is legal. The only thing i'm worried about now is my intake. Fixed my front bumper.
